I bought a case of Moet white star a while back (apparently right before it became scarce because it is discontinued) and cannot find a replacement. I only have 4 bottles left and after popping open a Moet Imperial (it's "replacement") I need to find something else. I am already boned for tonight but any suggestions are welcome.
Your usage isn't even funny. I wasn't acting like it was a travesty. They don't seem to have an Extra Dry. You are talking about the Brut Yellow Label? If I have to go with a Brut I will probably get Bollinger.
Codorniu is fantastic Cava from spain. It's only ten bucks. Personally, I think it's better than Moet and not quite as complex as Veuve Cliq.
N.V. Gosset Brut Excellence is one of the best you'll find (imho) if your preference is non-vintage champagnes.
IT might just be that I'm a little drunk but this Imperial is starting to go down very nicely. I still would like to find a good Extra Dry though for new years. White Star was the ultimate party champagne. Cheap, and everyone will drink it.
Veuve works for sure Some other alternatives from Napa Valley, who makes excellent sparkling wine: 1) Domaine Carneros sparkling -- they make some very good ones 2) Schramsberg -- truly outstanding stuff 3) Mumm Napa
