Do you think SF still has a room to improve his PG skill? Nah. comparing with current poular NBA PG such as Kidd, Nash, SF frequently showed a kind of "frozen mental moment" when he run the ball. It was cause of TO, loss of opportunity for his teammate to score. The hesitation run inro his brain.
Francis is clueless now as a PG. But you need to go and lookup the info for Kidd and Nash. Come back and let me know how long they have been in the league, ok? It's going to take a few more years for Francis (he's playing on athletic ability right now) to become a PG of the same level as Kidd or Nash.
How long Andreu Miller of Clipper has been in NBA? Look at the flow of motion when Miller running ball and shooting . That is beauty of art. Sign Miller.
Most of you people wouldn't know basketball if it were inserted in you. With the exception of Kidd, every other team would trade their top point guard for Steve Francis *right now.* Seemingly half the BBS wanted Andre frickin Miller for Francis last year and now the same people are crying for Mike Bibby. Where are you, basketball geniuses? Moving on to the next point guard flavor of the week....now serving: Gilbert Arenas..gag. Steve Francis is one of the five most versatile and explosive players in the league and he is the undisputed leader of this team. He has taken an active role in reaching out to Yao Ming on the court and off. Francis plays hurt, plays with heart and takes the responsibility of being the leader of the team seriously. I'll take him on my team anyday and I bet every GM in the NBA would be with me.
Alas. Don't be so angry! We love basketball. Basketball brings joy. You may know more than we do, but there are players showing more potential. Miller had 35 pts and 16 assists last night. That is very very good.
Did any so-called basketball expert got PHD degree from hoop college? Be rebember the sport coming from street. SF show his explosive performance, but his play is rigid as dumb cannon not knowing where really to go. Please put on too much hope for his improvement of BIQ.
Steve Francis isn't the future of this franchise. Yao Ming should be. Ming is a center driven to be the best and someday he will be the most dominating center in the league. Steve needs to understand that next year he need to take a back seat to Ming. The offense should go through Ming most of the time. Hopefully, the Rocket organization will realize it next season and have more set plays for Yao Ming. I hope Francis realizes this is the best chance for him to win a NBA championship as well as improving himself as a baller.
I have no problem with SF and Yao being the co-leaders of the team. It's Mobley who will need to take a back seat. Yao's emergence puts less need on Francis' being better play maker and that's a good start.
He just needs to learn when and when NOT do drive to the basket. He needs to be smarter and stop thinking that he's MJ. Jordan had huge hands and was able to move the ball in mid-air in all sort of contortions. When Francis was in his rookie season, he was getting called for "palming the ball" a lot of the time. He did this to compensate for his small hands (on the play-ground). He had a wake-up call when he came in the NBA when he found out that, that type of "play-ground ball" was illegal. Duh! New School, meet Old School rules! Leave that flashy-as* show-boat stuff at Rucker Park!
Listen up! Steve Francis is big suck! He's been one since the day he was drafted and refused to play for then Vancouver now Memphis. He is the typical, egocentric, inflated head, chip on the shoulder, self-inamoured basketball player we all dispise! BUT, he's got game. He is an awesome player whether you like him or not. He's the kind of guy you love to hate...like many others out there. Why would you guys even consider trading him? He'd be snapped up by any GM.
But imagine where the Rockets could be if, through a little "encouragement," "motivation," and constructive bashing, he were to develop some basketball smarts to go with his athletic ability.
Turkey like chicken. Rudy T prefers the PG with average/below IQ that easier to be controlled. Do you want to stay with the guy graduated from Ivy league everyday? Get a smarter PG at least like Kenney Smith.
Stevie should be a shooting guard. He does not have the potential to be a point guard. Please don't hate me for this comments.
