According to our good friend the Rocket Guy:

The Rockets, now said to be the top contender in the Mo Taylor Sweepstakes, have told Taylor to take it or leave it! They have a $2.25 million exception to play with, and if Taylor is willin to play for that for a year, it's all his. If not, Houston is not going to try and negotiate a sign-and-trade with the Clippers. Why not? Basically Taylor and his agent (David Falk) have been saying for the past year that Taylor will leave LA and will not do a sign-and-trade because they don't want LA to get any compensation for the loss. Now they are begging LA to do a deal with Houston or Seattle and the Clips are saying - "NO WAY!!" The Clips are not interested in ANY sign-and-trade deals (see Derek Anderson), and they especially would not want to swing one for the guy who has been bad-mouthing them (OK, justifiably) all year. This comes under the category of Burning Your Bridges.
The Wizards have now stepped in to try and land Taylor, but realistically, there is not much chance of that happening. The Wizards have a mid-level exception available, so Taylor would make more this season, but they are over the cap for the foreseeable future, so his contract next year would likely be very small in Washington. Houston will have all kinds of cap room next summer and Taylor would have an opportunity to earn a chunk of that if he signed in Houston. In my opinion, that's what he will do. He will want the most money long-term without having to suffer through a losing year in Washington.

    Looks like he's ours...

This RocketGuy dude is so full of it.

I don´t even bother with his site, since he always seems to be playing the guessing game, and he does so with such authority that it almost seem like he really KNOWS something other people don´t.

Shame that never turns out to be the case and it´s just pure speculation.

And after he initially said that Eckels was right, i lost all semblance of respect i could ever have for him.

    Just my two cents.

why would the rockets choose to put forth an ultimatum - RIGHT NOW? i mean, what advantage does that give them? do they have other things they are working on which are being held up by taylor?

i doubt it, so i'm not sure they would issue an ultimatum as of yet. after all potential throw-in players are eligible to be traded, maybe. but not right now.

verse: they did not. It´s just our "good friend" the Rockey Guy playing the guessing game as if he was an insider.

The guy is laughable. Everything he says is either obvious, or it´s pure speculation. He has no credibilit whatsoever, IMHO.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but unless any of you are agents or insiders, none of you can say what is going on from watching the news, reading the papers, or from a website.

So whether Rocketsdude is full of shi@ or not is irrelevant. ALL of out statements are crap unless we are obvioulsy speculating. So Thanos, how in the hell do you know whether an ultimatum was made or not?

My point is that we should play nice. We are all arm-chair GMs here, and it won't hurt anybody to let somebody else talk out of his butt.

    P1S2,

I think Thanos is referring to his badmouthing of saveourrockets.com right after the Eckels thing. He basically called them stupid.

The Rockets would not give anybody who was interested in them any ultimatums. That is just not good business. Could you imagine how many ultimatums Shandon would've gotten?

P1S1... i just have something of a problem with people who try to pass educated guesses as fact.

That and the area fiasco he made are reason enuff to bury the guy's credibility in my book.

I don't have anything against other people's opinions.

Not when they are presented exactly like THAT and nothing else, that is.
