1. Stay put in Orlando. They might could actually build a solid contender, if he gives them time. 2. LA Lakers: can keep the natural order of things in place for the NBA, which is keeping LA a competitive squad, even though you can thank Jerry West for that, or those superstars who had to carry the team in those off-years, such as Kobe Bryant and Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Even after Kobe retires, the Lakers will somehow end up with another superstar to play, next to Dwight, maybe two or so. 3. Portland Trailblazers: Dwight would be missing piece for them to make consecutive NBA Finals appearances (and win a few). I get the sense some posters do not watch that much of the Blazers, or realize how deep their roster is. Aldridge and Wallace, teaming up with Howard, might be one of the best front lines in modern NBA history. It also doesn't hurt to have Wesley Matthews, Raymond Felton, Jamal Crawford, and Nicolas Batum in the backcourt. 4. NJ / Brooklyn Nets: Dwight Howard teaming up with Deron Williams is box office mayhem, with alot of playoff appearances. 5. Atlanta Hawks: Dwight's hometown. Decent-sized city. Forms a possible starting unit of Howard-Horford-Smith-JJ-Teague or Howard-Smith-Williams-JJ-Teague. 6. Philadelphia 76ers: Very promising young team, could do wonders for them as well.
And I agree with you on this one. Lakers have the FO to always put the team in the hunt. The glamour and DH12 would make it very attractive for FAs to join and West seems to get it done. I hate the Lakers but that's mainly a jealousy hate. DH12 won't have that same hate.
Big E, Moses, Sampson, Dream, Yao, Dwight! He instantly would make Houston the best team in the league while continuing the very best tradition of big men for any franchise in the league.
Honestly, you think that if we got Dwight Howard, Morey would be dangling him in trades? Orlando would probably benefit if they traded Howard rather than waiting it out through all this drama.
Why is it obvious ? Rose is already the star there, they have Boozer and that long haired freak. I don't see the Bulls as a serious option.
If Deron satys, Brooklyn. Although that's primarily my New York bias speaking, I think Deron and Dwight are a good enough tandem not to need that 3rd superstar. Dwight's the best post player in the league and is a solid two way player, and Williams is a great mutli-faceted player. Not only can he set guys up, he can score as well. Give them some decent role players, and they're legit.
Because it would pair him with Rose and the Bulls have the best trade assets of any team that is known to want to deal for Howard. OKC ranks up there too but isn't willing to blow up their team. If Howard adds Chicago to his list, I expect a deal in short order.
Houston wouldn't be a bad choice at all, especially if this was a transaction in the offseason. If Houston ends up with a possible top 10 pick and another pick in mid-teens. They could add two high potential rookies (or trade them for solid players) with a lineup of. ... PG - Lowry, Dragic, Flynn SG - Martin, Lee Williams SF - Budinger, Morris PF - Scola, Hill, Patterson C - Howard, Dalembert, Thabeet
You never know what the future holds. Remember when he went here to play with Yao he probably never thought he'd get shipped to NY for Jordan Hill and picks.
He also probably never thought he'd break down and quit on the team. As for the Chicago speculation, think Chicago is the perfect choice for everybody- big city, good team, Magic can get a lot back without the Bulls gutting their roster. Only thing for Howard is he might not want to play with Rose there, Rose is the hometown hero and 1st overall pick. Bulls fans might remember those rings as the "Rose Era" whereas in LA or Brooklyn it be the "Howard era."
