Now that's a true pg. He played awesome tonite. I am really impressed with his court vision and his unselfishness. How many years does he have left on his contract? It would be great if we can trade/sign him.

Funny thing is that he is a converted 2 guard. I think this is only his 2nd year playing the PG position.

    He is a nice player.

he's one of the more consistent guys the warriors have. switching over to the point has made him a better player IMO. He's dishing out the assists and still getting some shots in.

I think this is his 1st year playing PG only. Last year they had "the failed gilbert arenas project" aka Larry Hughes. Hughes played point while Arenas didn't get much playing time last year, playing behind Hughes and Bobby Sura.

I don't know. Arenas is putting up big numbers, somewhere around 17ppg and 7apg. Those numbers are much better than Mike Bibby's numbers and Bibby just got a huge contract ($80 million?) I don't think trading for Arenas is a good thing. He'll have to play behind SF. I don't think we even want to experiment with him playing PG and SF playing SG like AI. We already have too many players who think they are good enough to start. He'll just add even more friction to the bench.

But Arenas is damn good though. It seems as if a lot of the Arizona guys are good. I wonder what happened to Miles Simon?

If we trade for Arenas, that means Steve better be happy playing the 2 then b/c there's no other position Arenas would look comfortable in. maybe Steve will be a convert too.....

If we trade for Arenas then we'd move steve to 2 and start Arenas at 1. He's much better than moochie now and possibly better than cat.

Steve is the PG and will continue to be the PG. You mean to tell me that if you were Rudy you would trade for Gilbert and then tell SF that Gilbert is the better PG and you are going to be playing SG:confused:

What exactlly would you do to aquire Gilbert? Would you trade Cuttino? I don't see the logic here.

I didn't say that Gilbert would play SF. I MEAN to tell you that if we actually got Arenas, there wouldn't be any position other than PG for him to play at. He's a PG now and probably will be for a long time. So unless Steve decides 'hey I want to be the 2' there's really no point of having Arenas. get it?

Neither did I nor did I say that you did. ;)

SF=Steve Francis. Really IMO SF aka Steve Francis doesn't really play the SG positoin that well. We don't need Gilbert Arenas, what we need is a veteran back up PG. Although I agree with you that Gilbert is a solid PG, but he is not better than Mobley. In reality all we need is for Mobley to come back and for Steve and Mobley to play smarter basketball. It is going to take sometime for the backcourt to learn how to play against these zones.

that'll be Brent Barry. But if people feel guilty for dissing Mobley while injured, it might be Radmonovich to ride the forget about defense and Trade Kenny wave.

why the hell do we want to trade for a pg that isn't half as good as the one we have? the rockets will never ever have gilbert arenas on their team.

don't get me wrong, he looks to be a really good player but there's no point in trading for him.

We don't need another talented young guard who should be a starter. We need a good veteran guard who doesn't have the ego problem being the backup. And get rid of Moochie or put him at the deep end of the bench.

Who was in chat with me last night? I knew there would be a "trade for Arenas" thread created today. =D

Arenas has put up good #s this year. Why would we need him with Steve playing 40 mins at the point and why would the Warriors want to trade a guy who is averaging 15 pts, 6.5 rebs and 7 assists?

Other than Steve and Yao, the Rockets don't really have anyone to offer that the Warriors would want for Arenas.

Why would the Rockets want a PG who is putting up less numbers then our current PG, and our current PG is guiding a winning team? And why move our PG to SG when we have a 20 ppg shooting guard already there? Arenas had 9 assist Francis 7, what's the difference? And the craziest thing of all is that Arenas is only putting up 1 more assist per game then Francis is, and he's only done it for a month! How about waiting for a year and seeing if he can hold up.
