http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/12/25/2876754/hes-ready-to-be-leader-of-the.html I made fun of the Grizz when they said Zach was their leader, now I am tempted to make fun of the Bobcats. Can Maggs turn into a leader like Zach?
It depends on the team around him. In the right situation you can turn Corey Maggette into a decent veteran. If the situation is bad then he might check out. While Maggette has been on a lotta losing teams he's never been thought of as a cancer IMO
If Corey Maggette is the #1 or #2 option on your team, you aren't going anywhere quickly. He's in that Caron Butler class of SFs for me.
Kemba is going to be such a surprise to most people playing for the Bobcats. Corey better not mess that up for him!
Zach Randolph is also a great rebounder and being a legit low post threat creates great spacing and opportunities for teammates without actually making a pass. Maggette is useless if he isn't in the act of scoring.
Then I hope you aren't one of the ones pimping Kevin Martin as an "elite efficient scorer." There is very little difference between the two.
Maggette is a very efficient scorer. He is very physical and goes to the line a whole lot. So he has his moments, but he does not help make others better.

that I am not. One thing I do like about Martin's game is that he can play and move without the ball. Maggette can do neither. He is the ultimate black hole on offense.
Maggette's game relies so heavily on athleticism that even if he could be like Zach Randolph, the window is rapidly closing. He's only going downhill from here.
