Kubo's is better than Miyako's and Osaka, both of which are very good.

Osaka is my favorite. The people there are awesome, and the prices are great. The free appetizers don't hurt either!

Osaka is great. But I'd have to recommend Sasaki Sushi on Westheimer. It's as authentic sushi as you can get here -- one of the few sushi places in Houston that's actually Japanese owned and operated. Small, quaint little place with great food.

Hokkaido in Chinatown is not bad. Free miso to boot.

I do not understand why Japaneiro's gets so much love. I personally think their sushi and rolls are pretty mediocre to subpar. If you're in the Sugar Land area, go to Keeper's instead. Or if that's too far out of the way, Azuma's on the Lake is right off of 59 and 6 and still a better option, IMO.

Outside of Sugar Land, love Oishii for their happy hour. Kubo's, Soma, and Uptown are good. Haven't been to Blue Fish in about 2-3 years now, but they used to be pretty good...
