we've added some solid additions to our rockets. we've also got some players that are getting better and have shown some growth from last year.

we all know that when it comes down to it, and the score is close, it's gonna take a closer to win these games. now that we have our roster in place before the season begins (or it seems for now), who do you think will be our main closer? or do think maybe this will be on who has the hot hand at the end to make the play?

Twill. He should just drive to the basket and get fouled.

If it aint Lowry, then it has to be closer by committee.

Since they trade Melancon, they may put Lyon back in the closing role. If he's not healthy, they may give David Carpenter a try.

Although Martin is gonna get most of the closers role

I would like Scola to get the ball more of late

He showed us last year he can carry the team

And i expect him the team to rely on him more this year..

i'm glad SCOLA and Martin for Gasol trade didnt go down we have a better all around team as we stand than getting GASOL and an overpaid NENE, i like them but they are both way overpaid and we would loose our depth in multiple positions.

Lowry. He has the ball in his hands and he can shoot now. If Twill could shoot consistently, he would be great closer.

Ball in Lowry's hands and let him find the open man.

Let Lowry create. He'll shoot if he finds a shot or distribute to the open man. But in regards to what you're really asking, Marcus Morris has the most potential to become that type of ball in hands at the end of game type closer.

although you are right its hard to replace the chuckwagon:mad:

but we are gonna have to replace him as a team ;)

dalembert will hold his own in the paint maybe we put in patterson at the end to finisg close games that gives us 2 above defenders and also put in twill or lee to replace buddinger at the 3 we keep martin and lowry to run the offense... we lost hayes and battier the best 2 defenders we had in 2010-11
season but we just have to help out and probably play zone defense under kevin mchale...

tough break there on defense but i think adding dalembert was good because he can change some shots if he is focused:confused: which under contract for 1 year guaranteed only he should be beats for us on blk and reb

morris has pottential:p but it will take time

but ready for this year it has to be scola or martin

although neither are treaths to other teams they have the experience that our other players lack... Scola showed flashes last year of a closer

give it to the scooping i,c SCOLA

"Good teams don't win close games, they avoid them"-DMorey

Unless the whole team is composed of chokers, I have no idea why the roster can score normally during the game and then suddenly only the designated closer will be able to score when the game is about to end.

My guess is if the game is on the line and we have a set play, it'll be our best players who will try to score a bucket, namely Lowry, K-mart and Scola.

KLOE - Kyle Lowry Over Everyone

However, I think the standard play should be a pick and roll with Lowry and Scola with Kevin Martin getting a weakside screen from the center and Chase Budinger spotted up in the corner.
