Yeah, some of you guys really knew how to call it... the offense is being run SO much smoother and more effectively without Cat. Man, he is a plague to this team, why didn't we see this earlier?

maybe some of the guys could look at Ron Artest for an example of intensity. They dont need to break anyone's ribs, but at least they'd play hard all the time... That guy has been an animal ever since he came out of St. Johns

OK, someone with tape, rewatch the 1st quarter and tell me where you see sputtering team ball. Most of that was started with a 24-high pick that immediately starts a series of passes (as Moochie was obviously intent on passing this time), and structured player movement...but much of it lost its purpose to lack of chemistry and timing.

Man, were Hawkins and Eddie confused or what?? When Rudy said the defense is way ahead of the offense, he wasn't kidding.

I've got the 1st Q marked whoever wants to play scout with me. The 2nd Q didn't have much motion, as we tried to get Maurice off going to easier set offenses, and letting Steve gets some penetration.

There's some more sputtering motion in the 2nd half that I'll mark later. Check back if you have tape and want to replay some ugly ball with me!!

    I love this game!
    :(

For god's sake, play Yao even he is in foul trouble, that guy got 10 points in 18 min in an off night! one thing I realize now is when rocket pass the ball down low, the rocket guards run to Yao for a cut, which easily create the guard of other team to double guarding Yao, and Yao need to put the ball on floor to post. and it is easily be stolen by the opposite guard! if the guard of Rocket can just stand there, like Lakers guard do, then Yao will be single guarded or pass out for 3 ptr. anybody else notice that? really bad strategy.

I can't believe Yao missed 6 free throws. he's a 80% free throw shooter. but it's good to see he goes to the line a lot.

Soo.........what do you say after a win? "Rudy really had everyone on the same page tonight. Man this system really worked well. I'm glad Rudy is the coach because he does a great job of getting the most from his players."

I agreed that Yao definitely should play more last night. The guy score 10 points in 18 minutes and if he had made those free throw like he usually does, he could of got 15 - 16 points . That almost a point for every minute play. With all the trouble that Houston have last night scoring, Yao definitely should play more.
He is the only inside player that had some success against Sabonis. After Sabonis block his shot earlier in the game, Yao score on Sabonis and draw the foul on another occasion toward the end of the game. When Dale Davis is in the game, there is no way he can stop Yao shot. We should take advantage of those mismatch. He got 6-8 inches on most guy that guard him. We should take advantages of the double team he draw. With his good bassketball instinct and good passing skill, we should able to got a good shot evey time he touch the ball. He should received the ball early so that he can make some decision rather than have the guard dribbling all the clock away. Obviously, his decsion making is much better than some of our other player.

    Pip,

Wait, wait, wait I thought the Rudy Lover's said he's a genius! An earlier post said what we have been saying all along. The players only have a clue if the coach has a clue. Not the case here. I just need the (RL's) to say that Rudy needs to be fired if his deepest team doesn't make the Playoffs! Calvin Murphy we need ya!

Not being a devil's advocate. I wonder what moves Rudy would make if Rox lost 5 or 6 straight in the next ten.

That was without a doubt the most pathetic performance I have ever seen from a Rockets team...

Short-handed? Hard to match up athletically? With our depth, I'd hardly say the loss of Cuttino makes us short-handed or less athletic. Rudy should stop making so many damn excuses and teach his team what they obviously have no idea how to do: play basketball.

Anyone know a "real" coach looking for a job? (P.S. - Any coach will do.)

Looking back, Rudy did try to get Ming in the game much earlier than he came in...but there was no stoppage of play for like 2-3 minutes (gametime). So eventually Rudy called a timeout. I don't know how much of a difference that would have made, but it sure as hell would have made me feel better.

Man, I was at the game and it was severely lame... I've never been so disgusted.. We had great seats and were looking forward to seeing some high quality basketball and both teams were horrible. The Rockets missed opportunity after opportunity to get the W. I felt like our defense was fairly solid for most of the game except we were pretty susceptible to the back door lob and we left a lot of 3 point shooters open.

One interesting sidenote.. The guy behind us was telling his girlfriend that Yao was "nothing special" and couldn't play but he was tall and "you can't teach tall".. I felt like Yao really had a subpar game but after a few plays, she told him that she didn't agree and thought he'd be pretty good.. There were a lot of Rocket fans in the audience which was cool, but unfortunately, we couldn't urge our team to victory.

Not sure if anyone could bear to watch the final 30 seconds of the game, but if you heard Calvin comment that someone was yelling his name, that was my little brother.

    Peace,

    Gus
