Best fried chicken and killer gumbo, but ok. Luke's is high quality, as well, for seafood.

Good thread. I'm thinking about going there in a month or two. I haven't been since 1984.

I was there two weeks ago. I enjoyed John Besh's restaurant called "August".

Other than that, I like the restaurant at the Roosevelt hotel.

The charbroiled oysters at Dragoo's are also great! There's one in the Hilton Riverside on the river

Big fan of the Pelican Club in the French Quarter along with Antoine's. For breakfast, the Eggs Portuguese at Brennan's is TEH BOMB!

I'll be heading there after new years but I have seen that Domilise's place talked about on The Best Thing I Ever Ate on the food network.
Also they had an episode on the best sweets and they had Brigtsen's Restaurant on there in new orleans about their pecan pie. I really want to try that. I've been raving for a good pecan pie.

A local favorite (away from the tourists) is Jacques Imo's... It's rather small (no reservations), so expect to wait in line, but worth it.

For a casual lunch and unique atmosphere in the Quarters, I love Napoleon's Cafe, especially sunny days to sit in the small courtyard. Also, good atmosphere for after dinner drinks on the way back to your hotel.

Central Grocery is where the Muffuletta was invented.

I think it's pretty much a given, but you can't go to NO without going to Cafe Du Monde for some beignets.

I'm going for a long weekend in January.

Every time I am in New Orleans, I must eat at Vincent's in the Garden District. Incredible Italian food with a Cajun flair.

Felix's - French Quarter - Good Oysters, crawfish etouffee - kind of a small hole in the wall place, but it was good. Went about a month ago.

Cafe Du Monde is as good as advertised.

Acme Oysters is overrated and overpriced.
