Samuel Dalembert on Houston out of the picture: "I guess so. It's really frustrating.'' On Sacramento: "Yes, it's a possibility.'' .

Just talked to Samuel Dalembert. He confirmed Rockets likely out of the picture and Sacramento is back in it.

    Welll... That's a wrap!

Maybe the Rockets Dr. has checked out Hayes and maybe has a different opinion and we may be getting Hayes back! That would be fantastic, however, I think Hayes should only play 20 min or so a game tops to get our younger guys more play time. Hayes presence and BB IQ and work ethic would be great around the younger guys also

[rQUOTEr]HOUSTON - FOX 26 Sports has learned the Houston Rockets remain engaged in negotiations to sign free agent center Samuel Dalembert.

This information is contrary to reports from TNT and NBA.com that said the Rockets were passing on Dalembert for the moment.

NBA sources with knowledge of the situation told FOX 26 Sports the Rockets were in contact today with Dalembert's agent, Marc Cornstein.

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey has not been available for comment, but on Thursday he acknowledged in an interview with FOX 26 he was efforting to land Dalembert.

"We have interest in Sam," Morey said then. "If it makes sense for him and us, we would love to have him.

"It's in negotiations. Between the two of us looking for a fit. He's got a lot of options and we'll see if it makes sense here."

    ...

During his career he has averaged 8.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots per game[/rQUOTEr]

Cmon Morey, don't do this, don't turn us into the next Detroit pistons.

If Sam Dal thinks he's getting short changed, that's just one more reason to stay away from him.

Sammy is looking for a payday RIGHT NOW...dude should go to Miami on a nice 1 yr deal and get some exposure. Chandler did the same last season, although traded, and got WAY overpaid this offseason.

That's fine...sign for 5 million and prove your worth. If he plays well, which shouldn't be to difficult considering who will be around him, then he is looking at a huge deal next offseason. Injury is always a risk but Morey just won't overpay for a fringe center and Sac-Town is Sac-Town.

    5 mill...no state taxes...Miami Beach...short plane hop home...winning team...Miami groupies...possible ring(s)...possible endorsements...bring your title experience to the next team...

Passing on that for the Rockets' (or Sac's) offer speaks of his desire and it's not to be a better player. He wants money and he's not that good of a player if that is his lone desire. Last year was a contract year and he couldn't even bring it then...just the last 2 weeks of the season is all he could produce for his payday.

Passing on signing him was the right thing to do...don't rethink it.

    Lowry, Dragic, Flynn
    Martin, Lee, TWill
    Budinger, Morris, Parsons
    Scola, Patterson, Adrien
    Hill, Thabeet, Smith

Adding Dalembert would likely mean Smith is waived. I want to see what Smith can do.
