They should definitely move to San Diego.

Doh... barely even keeping up with things since the lockout.

How about best winning % of all-time as a "peak" potential? Just a guess. You're prob right though.

Chris Paul is just that good. He makes a bad supporting cast a somewhat dangerous team. Now he's loaded. He's worked with a lot of greener and less talented players than the likes of Griffin and led those teams to the playoffs in the deep West.

Again, I'm just throwing out a wild guess. I'm sure most of you guys know a lot more about what's going on than me... shoot, I forgot about the condensed schedule for a minute there... heh.

Be interesting to see the reaction of those who despised Chris Paul and said so back when many of us were clamoring to get him. The word "Punk!" keeps floating through my memory. Who was it that kept saying that? Someone who's user name starts with a D, and it wasn't me. ;-D-

Just watch what he'll do with this young talent, and Paul is, what, 26? Damn! Such luck shouldn't happen to arguably the league's worst owner, but it did. Stern shafted the Lakers as well as the Rockets, and they will not forget it. Still hard to believe that he killed that trade. And dammit, yet another reason to get league pass, and I wasn't going to this year. The Clippers are going to be fun to watch, if they stay healthy. The understatement of the year!

Not going to throw numbers around, too many variables. But they are going to be damn fun to watch. As an OU fan I was really worried when they drafted Blake, but now.. rockets will always be my team, but count me in the bandwagon.

    You got it.
The opponents can only hope CP and CB's knees will be shot.

    ^^^

This. A3P0, one of the best posters around these parts, and I have had some friendly back-and-forths about Paul in recent years. Paul has been my favorite non-Rocket for years. Absolutely brilliant player and leader (the latter is one of the things that A3 strongly disagrees about... heh).

Paul's not THAT good. You're acting like he's Magic or something. Paul's not a top 5 all-time PG. And I don't think he'll ever crack that.

Chris Paul is excellent but he is still a punk. But that nastiness is also what makes him a great competitor.

Clippers are an atheltic SG away from being a championship team. If they get a legitimate SG and once they build up chemistry they will be downright scary.

    Deckard,

Chris Paul is a punk, and I hate him, but would love it if he were on my favorite team.

Come on now, you are too old to lack understanding about stuff like that.

Fair enough. To each his own. I'd have to really sit there breaking it down to see where he ranks all-time in my book but I'd say he's very near the top 10 if not already there (not trying to get too much into that debate right now, esp. considering that his career is far from over).

He ain't Oscar Robertson or Magic but hey, that ain't much of a knock. I believe he's right there with the next tier though... Stockton, Nash, Kidd and whoever else you wanna throw in there. It'll be interesting to see how he's viewed 4 or 5 years from now given the changes. I'd say most genuine "experts" would probably already have Paul at least in their top 15-20 PGs of all-time and that's been accomplished while playing with extremely lowly supporting casts compared to most every other PG in that list.

Honestly, I hate all major market teams. It's ridiculous that we have to struggle to attract talent, while LA out of location alone is able to retain them... even if it is the Clippers. They are supposed to suck. That is the way of the universe. If they don't, then I don't know how to live anymore...

    Paul IS that good.
He is a superstar that is underrated.
He can probably make a D-league team win 20-30 games in the NBA if healthy.

Yes he is that good, their weakness is at SG with Billups, can he hold his own at 6'3" and 34 years old, and playing off the ball?

I think that is where they will struggle.

Rockets brass has made a lot of smart draft day moves the last several years, but Joey Dorsey (33rd pick) over DeAndre Jordan (35th pick) was not one of them.
