What exactly are your expectations for him? He's top 10 in the league in both yards and TDs. He's only had 2 games with less than 50 yards, and has 8 games with over 70 yards. He's about as consistent as there is.
Baltimore is the #2 seed as of today, right? They would win the division over Pitt, and then hold the H2H tiebreaker over the Texans for #2 vs #3 seed.
yep. looks like steelers are losing this game so baltimore gets the #2 seed. They need to lose another game for the Texans to get that second seed.
We don't win the head-to-head with Baltimore since we lost to them... we only get above them with a 3-way tie with another division winner (New England). We need either New England to lose, or Baltimore to lose the division to Pittsburgh in order to get a bye. At this point, I just think the Texans have to start playing better and take care of themselves. ALL the teams have major flaws, and we are seeing some of them right now with Pittsburgh and Baltimore. New England is the team that comes away smelling like roses this week... and they're just one week away from allowing the Redskins to dominate their defense.
no offense but you gripe about your fantasy football in every game thread. save that for another thread dedicated to fantasy football...
And Cincy will need to be in playoff contention in oder to play that game at full force... if they're eliminated, and that game doesn't matter, I don't expect much from Marvin Lewis to get his team to play hard. He showed about as much two years ago when his team decided to lay down at the Jets (only to get beat the very next week, at home, by the same tem).
Cincy has every reason to play. I can see the Jets slipping against the Giants, which would give Cincy that last spot if they win out.
I hope so... Right now, nobody knows how the following teams will come out and play on any given week: Jets Giants Cowboys Steelers Ravens TEXANS Bengals Lions Raiders Broncos 49ers Funny enough, all those teams are possible playoff teams... with the Texans and 49ers already being in the playoffs. Only sure things are Green Bay (last week excluded), New Orleans, and New England (who wins with offense alone).
Don't get me wrong I appreciate the points, but the numbers you are referring to are padded by the first 7 weeks of the season when he had nearly 5 over 20 point games. Since then he's only had one game close to that and that was because he he scored 2 tds. You take that game a away and he has been a little better than average.
As long as Cincinnati wins at home vs cards next week they still have a chance. And the jets and bengals both play at noon on week 17.
Well, that sucked. A chance to wrap up the division and the #1 seed in the AFC and Pittsburgh completely blew it. I've been saying all along, there's SOMETHING about these nighttime feature games that makes the Steelers play like crap. I don't get it. Regardless, congrats to the 49ers. The game itself definitely wasn't as lopsided as the score indicates. That's what a red zone turnover, missed FG (and essentially another missed FG with Tomlin electing to not kick at the end of the first half) and some poor officiating will do to you. Bottom line: Pittsburgh blew chance after chance and this 49ers D is something with the way they bend but don't break. All we can do at this point is get Harrison back, get Ben/Woodley/Pouncey healthy and move forward. The pass rush was close to non-existent last night. Unacceptable. This is a much better team than what they showed last night (and during nighttime games, in general, all season long).
Traveling 1500 miles and playing against an elite defense with a QB on one bad wheel, yeah, anybody who expected Pittsburgh to win that one was out of their minds.
I expected them to win until the power went out and Roethlisberger had to stand around on that foot. And then it happened a 2nd time.
Wouldn't go that far. I didn't expect the Steelers to win if Ben was severely hobbled, but strange things sometimes happen. The 49ers really put it together last night and played their best game in weeks.
New Orleans is not consistent either. Anytime you get them outside of that Dome, they tend to struggle. I mean, they lost to the ST. LOUIS RAMS. They almost coughed that game against the Titans up as well. Their offense is pretty sick, but if you can get pressure on Brees, he struggles just like anybody else. Outside of Green Bay, I don't think there is a single team in the NFL that doesn't have glaring weaknesses.
