He's a backup big, what's the big deal?

But I bet more than ever you wish y'all drafted Patterson over Henry. Thanks btw!

Dude, you clearly don't watch the grizzlies. Darrell is integral and he is a great defensive player and a deadly spot up shooter with range.

    You have no idea.

Arthur is a good player. You just won't get much sympathy about losing your 6th or 7th best player on your team on a Rockets forum of all places...

It's a blow because he's their first big man off the bench and was an important part of their rotation. Rudy Gay may have to slide over to PF on a regular basis to fill in the gap behind Z-Bo. The concentration of games makes this have an even bigger impact than normal.

They need to sign (the original) K-Mart once he's released to come back from China. No-brainer. If he gives them a healthy season, they should be OK. K-Mart doesn't do anything on offense, but he's a better defender and will bring some serious toughness.

what, it's K-Mart or Kris Humphries unless I'm missing somebody still out there.

Hopefully for Arthur he won't miss the whole season.

Humphries or Kenyon Martin would both be good pickups. But maybe they would be too expensive for the Grizzlies and their current cap situation?

Maybe they could trade Mayo for Taj Gibson or something.

    Not sure if serious.

When I think of great defensive players I think of Mourning, Rodman, Olajuwon etc.

When I think of deadly spot up shooter I think of Dale Ellis, Dell Curry and Glen Rice etc.

You're giving too much praise for a decent bench player. Arthur is a decent defender and he can knock down the occasional jumper when left open. Far from "Great" and "Deadly". If anything this just means more minutes for Gay/Gasol/Randolph which might actually work out better for them.

"Arthur's absence leaves Randolph as the Grizzlies' only power forward under contract. The team is also without a center to backup Marc Gasol because reserve Hamed Haddadi hasn't yet received a visa to return from Iran. "

Arthur had as much of an impact for the Grizzlies as Patterson had for our team, he is their best backup. The PF spot will be thin until he comes back. He's a high motor guy and sometime I get made Morey traded him.

Yeah, Darrell was poised for a big season this year. I don't know what the grizzlies are going to do honestly. I wish we had Chuck Hayes, Battier, Psycho T.

I'd trade oj for tyler in a heartbeat. unforunately, bird isn't that dumb.

I know but we basicly stole him from the trailblazers. We have Patterson now so out really doesn't matter

Yeah, I think great is thrown around to easily, but aurthur is a pretty good player. He's similar to carl landry except he's a better defender and a little bigger. He's not the post up guy landry turned out to be, but he's a good player for them. Kinda like malik rose with the spurs. Fortunately for them, kenyon martin might be availiable and that helps. If nothing else, they can probably trade mayo for his replacement if they choose to.

In the short term yes, but the increased minutes and lack of depth will burn them out. I don't think it's feasible for these guys to average 40 mins/game in the compressed schedule. If the playoffs were just starting, maybe not such a big deal.

Cry me a river of tears. Look at all the injuries Houston has had. If your so concerned, move to Memphis.
