Congrats Moes, beautiful baby. Hope he will continue your legacy on this board once he can surf the web lol
Congrats, Moe! My Wife is working on our first right now. She's due on May 29th, so any fatherly advice anyone wants to pass along, I'll listen. We spent about $2k at Babies R Us a couple weeks ago and we put the crib together this weekend. Can't wait. Congratulations again, man.
I don't know. Afraid I'm going to find out though. I'm due around the same time as Chuck 4 but haven't started cleaning the room out yet or buying furniture - it seems a bit early... it's going to be educational to see what all they need, is there a Baby Raising For Dummies guide for those of us who don't really know how all the little things work?
the cost of this generation's baby's "needs" these days just seems ridiculous (not judging you Chuck 4, speaking generally). a crib and some jiggly plastic keys used to be enough. there wasn't a need to baby proof the whole house. we all grew up just fine, right? sorry, Moes. didn't mean to derail your thread. Congrats man. if you sweat as much taking care of your kid as you do on the bball court, Elliot will be just fine.
Try starting with twins! Man, what a wake-up call the last 4 months have been.... Some of the best advice I've got was actually from our very own bbs poster JuanValdez, who also has twins. He said to just throw away every book you have and just do it. You'll be surprised how much just comes naturally. And congrats! (this is good news, right?)
I have already noticed how when every other baby cries I am irritated but when its my son I am less irritated and more trying to figure out what he needs. We head home in a couple hours because they just sliced his foreskin, this is exciting.
...and since this is the hangout, this thread needs a soundtrack. this track pretty much describes how you'll feel for the rest of your life: <iframe width="720" height="518" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/hPC3NzPh9RY?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Congrats, moes! I'm surprised you didn't name him Carson. Enjoy it. Glad to hear everybody is healthy.

I like the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" series. There's one dedicated to the first year, and I found it to be helpful. For a product guide, I like the "Baby Bargains" book. I have a 4 year old and a 1 month old.
Miles is already tailor-made for the GARM. When he popped out he soaked the doctor in amniotic fluid. SPLASH!
