    Heads up -- today COULD see some trades -- any trade exceptions that expired during the lockout were extended to expire today.

    The Rockets have cap room in an amount exceeding the trade exception, therefore there is little reason to use the trade exception.

    Edit: I was wrong. As Bima explained, using the Battier TPE instead of cap room would allow the team to preserve their MLE, BAE and other TPEs. Using cap room would, I think, only allow them to use the $2.5 million "mini-mid-level."

    As it has been repeated over and over and over and over, you cannot combine a trade exception with players.

    Calm down, people. The Battier TPE doesn't expire until at least next February.

    (I'm still trying to see whether the Rockets get an extension on this deadline until the March trade deadline--since the schedule required the trade deadline to be pushed back--but I'm not holding my breath on them getting that extension.)
