    Not permanent.

But it sets us back several years for sure.

In the post above yours, rookie.

I listened to the interview. Van Gundy is exactly right. I agree with every word he says about this blatant conflict of interest. The league should have had Chinese walls. Stern did not do the right thing. The fact that he ended up getting a good deal for the Hornets does not change the fact that he abused his position to screw the Rockets.

Seriously. This is supposed to be a competitive league where teams are rewarded for their actions.

The Hornets were granted a "do-over" and the hapless Clippers (joke of a franchise) got a chance at a superstar when they were to clueless to put a package together in the first place.

Just tear up the CBA and let Stern decide where everyone can go.

-Feels very bad for the Rockets. Hurt them permanently. Was in the process of getting a top 15 player. Was executing Daryl's plan to flip those young assets. To not have it happen derailed that plan and other FAs they pursued.

-NBA is trying to hurry and skip steps to get their games in on Christmas like it's some big thing. You have to have a FA period that doesn't co-inside with TC. Feels bad for Dell Demps. Had his legs cut out from under him. NBA should have anticipated this. They knew Paul wanted out. Credibility is hurt and rightfully so.

-Doesn't seem superstar teams have gone on to this extent. Never had the impression that players were so friendly that...never heard MJ say he wanted to play with another superstar other than Scottie. It was more so, I want to be traded. Not I want to go with my friends. Its a different time. We just went through collective bargaining. They could have fought harder. They went through the collective bargaining, and only have themselves to blame. What they gave into was the money.

-You wont be discouraged or persuaded not to continue just because of a setback.(Demps or Morey)

-Daryl has the intelligence and perseverance to get the Rockets back to a championship level team. Gasol was a good step to that. Les wants to win badly. He and Daryl are into it. They got building blocks in place.

-Rockets will try to do the same thing--take the picks and young talent acquired and try to package it together for a star player in his prime. That aint easy. You cant put a gun to other GM's heads. They have worked hundred of hours on the Gasol trade. Now they'll try to do the same thing. The easiest path back to being a legitimate top 4 seed in the West is to get bad first, try to hit a HR in the lottery, and have that propel you back to that top 4 seeding. But, and I give Les credit for this--he doesnt want to get bad and make the fans endure the bad to get good but it is much more difficult the way they are trying to do it which is go from pretty good, 43 wins, to really good. Much more difficult doing it the way they are trying to do it.

You can't really say what you want:

JVG "Sure I can, What are they gonna do?"

HAHAHA, I've always loved JVG as a coach and as an announcer. I'm glad he still has the Rocket's back after all these years.

Really this thing screwed the Rockets best chance thus far to realize Morey's plan to implement Les' vision.

Even though I did not care for the trade, it was quite a feat to get Gasol and have Nene there ready to sign.

    I hope Les has a plan B.

I have noticed you seem to be the Clutchfan's police. Thank you for your help in keeping the GARM free of annoying posters...FAIL.

JVG unlike other players/coaches who have left Houston seems to always be a fan of the team or at least he seems to still love the Rockets. He is even more vocal a supporter than Rudy T.

I remember Wojo mentioning something similar that he heard from a Rockets front office member. Morey is pushed into a corner and needs to come out swinging.

Ironically, the Paul trade might open up a center that could be easily acquired now.

If McHale fails, I'd love for JVG to come back. With Morey supplying the talent and crunching the numbers, I think JVG would be much more successful than last time.

I do not want Okafor. Kaman I'll take in a salary dump but only because the Rockets has to spend money anyway due to the CBA.

whoever the new commissioner ends up being, (bye Stern!) he should do a NBA2K12 Fantasy Draft in real life (Fixed option on) and have Rockets draft in the top 5!

No I think he is wrong. Gasol was 31 years old. I think we are where we have always been and have just delayed moving in any direction yet. While as the Lakers have been set back substantially for losing Odom for nothing, Chris Paul who was young, and now maybe even Dwight Howard who might end up joining Chris Paul as a Clipper!

I really like what JVG said here, but I don't buy the permanently hurt bit, Gasol was 31, he has 3 or 4 good years left....would we be able to get a championship team by then? I doubt it.

For the love of the game and his health you don't do that to JVG. Guy was overworked, pressurized and tortured.
Now he is blossoming to a very good sports analyst.
You cannot take that away from him.
So NO. Thanks for being a homer, Jeff. I appreciate it.

Frankly after todays Chris Paul trade I feel much better the Clippers got him now. No big loss losing out on 3 good years of Gasol to move half our team for. It really isnt. It just reeked of a desperation move to me anyways.
