If Samuel Dalembert is not on the Rockets radar, then something else HAS to happen before this season begin. Since King Stern has made it clear that he doesn't want to take back salary for the other owners to bare, maybe a first round draft pick and a couple of players (bud, goran dragic etc) can make that happen. I would love for this team to compete this year and Okafor is not just a piece for now, but could be a piece to build with for years to come. He plays hard, plays big and does things the right way. He's not an elite center, but in my opinion...there is only ONE of those in the league and plus the Knicks pick will probably be in the teens and don't know if we would snag ANYone better than Okafor anyway lol

    Just a thought.

    hell no.

His contract is an Albatross and he's just not all that, especially for that contract. He's a poison pill. A bad contract. I could even see the Hornets using the Amnesty on him.

if they do, then we would have a great opportunity to get a serviceable C for cheap.

    e.g. bid 6 mil/yr.

    That would be STEAL

Then why haven't they? He's NOT a bad player...not even close. Yes, I don't like his contract, but his skill and talents would do wonders for this current squad

Why in the world would the Rockets organization want to deal with the Hornets again? Just say "N.O." to the N.O.

I'd love to have him, if he came with CP3.

Deal everyone and everything except Lowry and Patterson (and ideally except Scola) for Paul/Okafor.

At this point, the Hornets have to be Persona non Grata for the rest of the league. If you were another team, why would you deal with Stern and Jackson, when you know they'll ask for too much and leak your deal all over the media? If you were an agent, why would you send your client to a team that's in total deadlock, incapable of even signing enough players to play an exhibition game in 3 days?

I think Morey resigns before he talks another trade with the Hornets, as long as the NBA owns the team.

Lowry and CP3 would be a playing problem, id say deal everyone but Patterson, Morris, Scola (if possible, he has a great contract and is very consistent) for CP3 and Okafor if CP3 will sign an extension here.

    Kyle Lowry
    Kevin Martin

    for

    Chris Paul
    Emeka Okafor

Works on the trade machine. Hornies don't want Scola...

    1. Chris Paul
    2. Courtney Lee
    3. Chase Budinger
    4. Luis Scola
    5. Emeka Okafor

(Perfect place for Dwight to land?)

    Paul & Lee?

We could only dream! We would have to include picks for sure. Most likely acquiring some from other teams as well to even have a slight chance of doing that.

The fact that Sterns wants to clear cap space for the "new owner", while having young prospects on the roster should make us the perfect fit. Now I can understand if Morey never wants to deal with them again, but knowing he's a professional GM; a good deal is worth making if available. The Rocket fans are loyal, but the front office knows that you can't keep losing season after season and get away with it if your name isn't Bob McNair. The Rockets HAVE to win to stay relevant in this town and sometimes you have to take contracts you don't want for the player you desire. It's not Morey's style, but what choice does he have? Stay the course? I guess, but it's going to be a long 66 games watching our front court defend in the west. Okafor's contract is 12mil this year, 13mil the next and by the 3rd year 14mil...it's an assets. He may have run out of options and our Center (Hayes) is in Sacramento right now. He CAN NOT start the season with Jordan Hill and Thebeet.

He's the only player I can remember that had the young, Rockets' version of Carl Landry thoroughly frustrated every time they matched up.

Don't want him but that always impressed me abouth im.
