Right when we thought Kahn was sturning the corner. I suspect this was called on by Rick ADelman who said recently potential(rubio) gets you fired and that he needs talent and that is who he will play. No doubt Barea is dangerous, but why in the hell woudl you do this to Rubio's confidence and experience if you are invested in him as the PG for the future. I really fail to understadn this move of PGs who can not even play together in ridnour/rubio/barea.
I am not that critical of Kahn in that I think Darko is a solid Center, defensive presence, and given what people pay for centers, Darko for 4-5 million a year and holds his own in the paint is a HELL of a deal. Thep roblem is people just stick to the stigma that he was supposed to be a superstar, he is not, but he is a solid center.
Love is a great pick, but then you have the Dwilliams/Beasley overlap which makes no sense. You have anthony randolph who is good, but has no place in this team. Wesley Johnson will be able to start and devleop, but now this PG situation...I don't get it.

That said, they have many assets. They are in a better situation than us in Assets, more people would invest in Anthony Randolph, Dwilliams, Rubio, Love over our assets which are solid, but don't have star potential in Twill, Patterson, Hill, Budinger(well they are solid, but the only place that they ahe star potential is hear in clutchfans)

Ridnour will be traded, if not, then Barea will mostly play SG.

Adelman is awesome with PGs, he really knows how to develop them, so I'd trust his decision making there.

That's a lot of money for Barea. I think they should have gone after Chauncey if they were looking for a guard who can play both spots. Screw his buyer beware bull****.

Rubio is no more than 6-3 in shoes.

Which is considered big for a PG.

Yeah, players never improve their shooting.

    Sincerely,

It's not considered big for a PG that is supposedly going to be playing SG on defense. Rubio does have a good wingspan, but he's weak. He was posted up all the time by Euroleague point guards, point guards, not shooting guards - and he could not guard any of them even one shred in the post.

However, he probably would be a better defender at SG than at PG on the perimeter, because his lateral quickness is not that good.

Still though, he's going to be an undersized and weak SG, with below average lateral quickness. If he is going to be defending at the 2. Looks like Adelman won't be caring about defense on yet another team with a 5-11 and 6-3 back court supposedly being in play for large parts of the game.

Improve a lot into being a perpetually slightly above average team that never gets over the hump.... or a real contender in a few seasons?

Sorry, I just don't see it... with Adelman and the weird cast of characters on that team I can see them scoring 100 pts and giving up 110 pts a night over the next few seasons.

Adelman is a terrible choice for a player like Rubio.
