I never understood the mindset behind following the Titans once they cut ties with Houston, and I still don't. *shrug*
No kidding. Call me a homer I guess. But if it doesn't say HOUSTON.....I don't care. lol. Which is why I never watched football till College.
Baseball and then basketball were my two first loves. Though I loved the Oilers fight song as a kid and I have photos of my father and I in matching Columbia Blue jerseys at age 1, I really didn't start getting into football until right about the time they left. So while it sucked that they left, I wasn't THAT emotionally attached to the team. I had no problem not rooting for Tennessee and giving all of my loyalties to the Texans when we were awarded the franchise.
don't understand the point of thread? Seems like the kind of person who its important for them to think they are a bigger fan than others? still not quite sure if I'm responding correctly, but I'll always wish we retained the oilers name and unis, like the browns did, but as long as we have a team,I ain't complaining. AND WE SURE AS **** HAVE A TEAM BABY!!!!!! what I still will never understand though, is why they haven't busted out the old fight song and replaced "oilers" with "texans". I'd shed a tear and j*zz in my pants at the same time if I was at the stadium and they broke that out. the playoff game seems like the perfect time.
Well, Bud has prevented any other connection to the old Oilers. It'd be kind of odd to be a franchise completely independent of the Oilers and then bring in that one piece of nostalgia. I'm sure the Texans are content to be their own team with their own distinct history. Besides, we stole that song from the Dolphins.
I just wish all the records, banners, and retired jerseys were still here. Other than that I don't care about the Titans anymore. I think this city really needed this
threads like this are so stupid. of course it was a topic in the beginning. what else did you have to talk about. be glad you had a chance to franchise grow in your city and stop rubbing **** in
the point is a some Houstonians couldn't get behind the team simply because of the color of their uniforms and Texans name, regardless if it said "Houston" on it which should be all that matters. these people constantly ridiculed the Texans for not being the Oilers/Titans. Texans were perennial losers. These fans would cheer for a Titans victory over the Texans (even pre-VY). Now i'm willing to bet they've changed their tune overnight and have become just like the dreaded Who Dat nation fan base claiming their Texans allegiance all along. those are the ones i'm referring to. Just so they know, nothing about the Texans look has changed.
Yes. Apollos would be sick. Could use retro 1960's scheme and everything. Toros would also be fine, considering that the logo is kind of a bull anyway.
