Exactly, the negative people in this thread are joke fans. Yates is a rookie, starting only his second game and some fans are ready to give up on him, how silly is that. All QB's make bad passes at times, so stop whining about Yates, he's doing just fine.
I agree that this game is far from over, but these are the final weeks of a regular seaon to decide playoff standings and the division lead. ONE game kinda matters.
Pick aside, TJ is playing just fine. Offense put up 210 yards in the first half, even against a Bengals team that controlled clock. Issues are in the unforced errors - the Tate fumble on the goalline and Rackers' missed kick. With those, you have 13 points.
I Thought yates came back nicely after the int. Just a bad turn of events with that fumble by tate. 14pt turnaround, yikes.
Fans need to relax. TJ and the offense looked good on the final two drives but left 10 points on the field. Cincy has a high ranked defense.
This really isn't on TJ, he has played pretty well; has the same numbers as Brees in the first half. Tate fumble was a real killer. Plus, the defense isn't clicking on all cylinders. Still winnable. Shut down the Bengals, no more turnovers, crank up the offense. I am still hopeful, BUT if the team plays like they did in the first half they will lose big.
This just isn't the Texans day. They were due for a stinker. Not a big deal if they lose. Just don't let it turn into a blowout. Gotta keep things tight. Joseph's dropped pick-6 and especially Tate's fumble were killers.
Yup. That's a 20 point swing. Tate's fumble leads to a Cincy TD and Rackers' missed FG leads to a Nugent FG at the half.
Turnovers are killers. But what is really scary was watching them run the football down our throats. Cincy's missing two starting O-linemen now. TJ has shown what he is thus far. The silver-lining is we'll get to see him throw the ball around the field midway through the 3rd quarter because we all now Kubiak. Regardless of what the Bengals do on their first drive, we'll run the ball on our first posession. Third and longs will abound. It will be interesting to see how Kubiak protects TJ (despite what he says) and also if Yates keeps throwing into double-coverage.
