    Why even bother signing Dalembert?

Go to war with what you have, save the cap room and regroup for next season.

Trade Kyle Lowry, Luis Scola, Goran Dragic, Hasheem Thabeet, and draft pick for CP3. This trade won't make us worse. If anything it'll make us better. Then you pray he decides to sign an extension. And if CP3 doesn't, you just start over next year like you'd have to anyways. Then, we sign Nene.

    Nene/Hill/Cousin
    Patterson/Morris/Parsons
    Bud/T-Will/Blakely
    Martin/Lee/Taylor
    CP3/Flynn

IMO, that's a top 3 team in the West. CP3 with Nene is dirty and then you got Martin on the outside. Flynn, Lee, T-Will, Morris, Hill is a very very very solid second unit. If we make some noise, it could convince CP3 that Houston is worth staying and then he could convince another superstar to come here.

If Golden State is able to sign DeAndre Jordan, then I think Biedrins becomes available. First the rockets should sign Dalembert. Then Trade Biedrins for Thabeet and second round draft pick.

    Dalembert/Biedrins
    PPat/Scola
    TWill/M.Morris
    Martin/Lee
    Lowry/Dragic

With this Lineup the Rockets are 5th best team in the West.

If we really wanna go into full on rebuild, here's the way to do it...

Hou Trades: Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, Courtney Lee, and Marqus Blakley
Hou Receives: OJ Mayo, Xavier Henry, Michael Beasley, Anthony Randolph, and Omer Asik

Grizz Trades: OJ Mayo and Xavier Henry
Grizz Receives: Kevin Martin and Marqus Blakley

    Chi Trades: Omer Asik
    Chi Receives: Courtney Lee

Minny Trades: Michael Beasley and Anthony Randolph
Minny Receives: Luis Scola and Chandler Parsons

Houston: Rockets do the trade cause every contract (except Henrys) is expiring and they get loads younger. Mayo and Henry are a good tandem at shooting guard. Beasley, though a dumbass, is a very talented player. Same goes for Randolph. Asik gives us a solid young center.

Grizz: Grizzlies do the trade cause they've been missing consistency at shooting guard and Kevin Martin gives them that. They could make a good run with him at shooting guard. They've been trying to get rid of OJ mayo for a while.

Chi: Bulls do the trade cause they've been offering Asik for Lee for a while.

Minny: Wolves do the trade cause it frees up playing time for guys like Derrick Williams and Wesley Johnson. Adelman probably wants a veteran Rocket on his team.

In a league where 16 out of the 30 make the playoffs, yes it is.

Stand pat. Perhaps add someone like Dalembert. Wait til the trade deadline, and either buy or sell at that time. The reason to wait is because some teams will want to tank at the time. And some teams will want to add pieces for their playoff run. And the Rockets can pick their own direction based on what's available.

Obviously, if something nice comes along quicker then you pounce on it. But otherwise I don't see much for the Rockets during offseason. At best we can offer Marc Gasol the max and wait for Memphis to auto-match it.

Then, sign a guy like Josh McRoberts who is a young solid center

    Depth Chart
    C: Asik/McRoberts/Thabeet
    PF: Patterson/Randolph/Hill
    SF: Beasley/Williams/Morris
    SG: Mayo/Budinger/Henry
    PG: Lowry/Dragic/Flynn

That's a depth chart where even the third unit is a solid young unit. By no means are we a playoff team but that's a team that can hold it's own while being on a good road of rebuilding.

    Agree.

I liked the Pau deal when it was first announced, but as it dragged on it sounded worse and worse.

I agree completely. Dalembert is way too expensive, and he's not that great of a player. He could fit in on a team like the Heat, but not us. We don't have enough talent to sign him to a big contract and still win.

Trade Scola and Martin for youth and picks. Rebuild. Never have I been more for it. Props to Morey for trying but we failed. It's time to move on.

I belive that a trade will still be the next contingencie for the Rockets if they cant get a bargain deal for Dalembert. Also havent heard anything about Fesenko, but they might want to make a call to his agent. Some names to think about in trade-

    Al Jefferson
    Chris Kaman
    Robin Lopez
    Anderson V.

Considering the Pau Gasol trade came completely out of the blue, I'm going to say that we have plenty of options that we're entertaining right now.

Well I am glad everyone is happy now because I sure am not. So exactly where are we today?

No interior rim protection. Let the opponents lay up drills continue!

Two really poor defenders still in the starting lineup when we could have dumped their asses for a quality big who can alter shots and offer some rim protection.

Adelman and his "I don't care about defense just score more points" attitude gone.

New big man coach who I believe thinks that defense is a critical part of being a contender. Where does that leave our defensive black holes - Scola and Martin?

Do we trade those defensive non-entities for picks? Rebuilding through the draft has proven to be a 3-5 year endeavor filled with fan discontent and mind numbing basement dwelling.

The 2 best bigs in the draft are Drummond and Sullinger. Both are projected to be top 5 picks. How the heck do we even get a chance at a top 5 pick? I would love to see that plan. And there is no Lebron like sure fire superstar in this draft last time I checked.

Morey gave it a great shot - we could have been relevant again.

Letting Chuck walk was appropriate. Likable, hard working and fairly effective, but realistically a lower tier center unable to protect the paint except by taking a charge.

We don't have the cap room to do anything but sign Dalembert and offer a wheelbarrow of assets for a defensive star like Iggy. Maybe the best case scenario. Definitely inferior to a Pau - Nene front line.

Basically I think that we are truly ****ed.

We have not done anything to strengthen our team. Neither have we gone towards rebuilding or competing. Another 14th pick

I'm sure there will be a trade of some sort... and soon. I don't think Martin will be here by the 26th. It's a shame because he's not a guy you should be forced to trade -- he's a very talented scorer. Maybe he could move past it, I don't know. Scola doesn't concern me. That guy just loves life.

The Rockets are very tight-lipped about what's going on -- with how much information gets leaked these days, it's amazing (seriously) that the Rockets knew about the Pau Gasol option for weeks and even used it in their recruiting pitch to Nene and it never got out there until an hour or two before the deal went to the league office.

I'm sure the Rockets are talking to a ton of teams. Minnesota isn't anything new since we've all speculated they would be an ideal trade target team (Adelman coaching there, needing to make a jump since they don't have their first round pick, lots of young talent) for months. Hell, if CP3 goes to the Clippers in exchange for that Minnesota unprotected pick, I'd take some semblance of joy out of seeing the Rockets screw the league by improving the 'Wolves.

Until Nene signs with a new team, I'm sure the rockets are still working something out. I believe DM had atleast a plan B.

Terrence Williams and Jonny Flynn to the Hornets for a conditional second round pick. Gives Hornets some youngsters like Stern wants and frees up capspace for Houston. Amnesty Thabeet and sign Nene.

SnT Marc Gasol from Memphis for Luis Scola + both 2012 #1s. Allows Memphis to retain quality players without swimming in luxury tax hell for years.

    Lowry / Dragic
    Martin / Lee
    Budinger / Morris
    Nene / Patterson
    Gasol / Hill

    3rd seed maybe?
