I define a "superstar" as a top 5 player in the league. Those simply do not fall that low because it is obvious when they are coming into the league. Morris is not one of those by a long shot. However, that second tier of Allstars who has the ability to be your best player on a stacked contending team do often slide. Paul Pierce, Brandon Roy, Amare, Dirk, these guys were all picked outside the top 5. Even a guy in the past like Drexler who was picked exactly at 14th. I do think Morris has a shot at getting to that level, eventually. Not necessarily as good as some of those names, but the best player on a stacked contending team.

All he has talked about is how Morris will go to the D League and how Montiejunas "looks slow". I love it.

Mind you, this is the guy clamoring about playing the young guys, making Thabeet and other 09 busts untouchable because "we don't know what we have in them yet", and at the same time talking about Morris going to the D League. Hilarious. Budinger probably makes it to the D League before Morris after McHale figures out how cotton candy soft his ass is especially after preaching toughness and defense all this time.

I think we have the same view of him, although sometimes elite players do fall for whatever reason...

With that said Morris just has the skillset to be a all-star player. I think sending him down to the d-league is not a good idea because it's not like he'd be taking time away from some stud SF we have. We're thin there, play him and let him take his lumps the hard way.

And also, sending him down to the d-league would somewhat lower his confidence, feeling as if he got demoted. THat's how i would personally feel:eek::eek::eek:

Look. If Marcus can't cut it on the NBA level right now, then he won't have a problem being sent down. If he's good enough to be in the rotation for the Rockets, then he'll stay. It's quite simple.

Given that his competition is the lesser of CBud and TWill, he has to suck pretty bad not to stay here.

right, we should have kept Hayes. a very effective leader and could have been a future coach for the Rockets. it would have been ok if he was going to a contender. Shane is on good shape though. I'm happy for him.

His Kansas teams would sweep the D league, undefeated champions.

I guess he would have to play PF though. We have never really seen him play SF.

So who are your superstars? Top 5 that is? You don't think Dirk is a superstar? Then what are the qualifications?

I like Patterson,I hope he will improve his post game under McHale's guidance and become more aggressive.

Lebron, Kobe, Wade, Dwight, CP3. At this point you might have to put Dirk in there too but I don't think many would have before last year. That just tells you international mystery players and highschoolers have a chance to slide in the draft. Morris is neither of those, but does bode well for Montieunas.(also not a superstar but could be a huge steal)
