WOW. They're going all in for Howard. But IMO NJN > LAL (NJ has a better PG ane Nene is as good is Gasol) if Howard chooses LA over NJ, it's clear he wants fame rather than success.
I'm half buying what you're selling. It's a legit argument, but you can't erase recent history. The Nets have sucked even with DWill and the Lakers are only one year removed from two championships. They were still better than the Nets last year. The Nets with Howard could very well be better than the Lakers with Howard, but it's not a clear cut case.
I think Nene is about as good as Gasol, especially with a top PG and another big man. Plus, I think Williams helps Howard pad the stats, which helps him in mvp race. Last, Howard gets remembered as the greatest Net ever. In LA he wouldn't even crack the top 5 all time Lakers.
Not a bad situation for Odom. He is going to play for the defending Champs and for a great owner/franchise. Sorry to say it but the Mavs are a legit franchise!
Thank god David Stern has saved the rockets. Now finally it's time for us to get real, play the young guys and rebuild. It will be tough at first but this draft coming up will make it worth it. Let's trade Luis, kmart and C Lee for picks.
Lakers finally stop drinking the stupid drink, and now focuses solely on getting Howard. Chris paul for Odom/Gasol, Kupchak was becoming Kupcake again.
This is truly amazing. That blocked trade single handedly 1. Pissed Odom off permanently that the LAL had no other choice, but to ship him out to a western conference contender that knocked them out of the playoffs (what a gamble..) 2. Let Nene slip away from the Rockets while this whole fiasco was going on 3. Kept any sensible team from ever wanting to trade for Chris Paul this season (i.e. Chris Paul is now stuck in NOLA for a whole season 4. Pissed off Rondo as the Celtics (and the whole league) actually thought that Paul was actually a tradable player this whole time 5. Left NOLA with the possibility of not gaining ANYTHING back from having Paul leave for FA next summer I don't care what team you are a fan of...this whole situation is so messed up and has screwed so many teams in the process it really makes me question the integrity of the league and invalidate any of its legitimacy.
