Fans of cancelled shows usually mail things to networks. Worked for Jericho. Very rare though; don't know many shows saved from cancellation because of fan outrage.
Looks like it is returning in primetime, just no one knows when... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/...etime-lineup_n_1094834.html?ref=entertainment With NBC and CBS announcing their midseason lineups earlier this week, it looks like the annual schedule shakeup is in full swing at the major networks. Since NBC unveiled its new lineup late Monday (Nov. 14) afternoon, there's been much speculation as to the fate of cult fave comedy "Community." Cue funny cast and crew tweets. The show's executive producer Neil Goldman tweeted "Midseason schedule burn!" after the news broke, and series creator Dan Harmon responded "Streets ahold!" Of course, this led actress Alison Brie to retweet her bosses comments with, "Troy and Abed in the...summer??" In true meta-humor fashion, the show's star Joel McHale then retweeted the entire dialog, adding, "Horsebot 3000 Noooo!" Donald Glover then retweeted the humorous chain-tweet, adding, "Britta'd it." Oh snap. Did NBC really just Britta'd their midseason schedule? Before you start sending paintballs of hope, "Community" fans, rejoice! The quirky comedy will return to NBC. "Community" will return at a date that has yet to be determined, reports The Hollywood Reporter. However, the struggling comedy still remains on the bubble due to low ratings. It's fan base may be small, but it's fiercely loyal. "Our fan base is mighty, thank God, and I think most of them are young, because no one appointment views the show, and I feel like, if they figure out a way to measure that and keep it all together, then our ratings might go up," Joel McHale told The Huffington Post before the Season 3 premiere. "But thank God the fans love the show. Hopefully it will keep us on the air, we'll see. I think if we get through this third season, we'll be okay -- oh, who the hell knows."

Sure, I know it's crassly manipulative. But Jesus F'ing Christ. The hotness. The hotness. Well, let's hope Community returns after "regionals." Because no matter how many fan letters I write to Matthew Weiner (suggesting Pete's wife becomes a junkie who pays for her Valium addiction by entering Charleston dance contests / prostituting herself with the rest of the cast on Mad Men), the only way we're going to see more Alison Brie stripteases on television is if desperate-for-ratings Community comes back. Also, the only chance we'll get to see spot on, arbitrarily perfect take-offs of the seventies version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, right down to the closeup on Donald Sutherland's rasping/Joel McHale's singing mouths, is if Community comes back. See you after regionals. Let's hope.
My favorite part about the Alison Brie gif-baiting is that like the rest of Community, it's amazingly meta: So happy that Childish Gambino got to make an appearance before the show gets put out to pasture. Danny Pudi was quite good for an actor, but it was so unfair to him to have Donald Glover who actually makes some pretty decent rap albums drop 16 bars before him. This was such an awesome deconstruction of Glee, I wonder if they waited a bit too long to pull this out; if they had done this in season 1 when Glee was everyone's favorite show, they might have gotten some extra eyeballs; but on the other hand, the episode doesn't work without Troy embracing his inner nerd, Annie going from merely young and insecure to neurotic/manipulative/insane, and of course, Britta being the WORST. Whatever, I should be past the point of vexing nostalgic and wondering what if and just be happy for the time I have left with this one of a kind show.
If they don't bring Community back, it's going to be probably 2nd on my list of shows canceled too early (AD being #1). Other than Sunny, there's not much else out there that makes me laugh like this show does. Oh, and Alison Brie.... nuff said.
I can't figure out how Joel McHale got through that scene without a raging erection... especially if it took several takes (I can imagine Alison and/or Joel busting up laughing as she performed... and having many re-takes)
I feel like this might be you... Or maybe from one of the recent South Parks Jusy kidding. You probably just need to drink more.
Just started on the community train and catching up with season 1... Man, the episode with Jack Black and when he called him a puppet master and Joel did the hand gesture, I couldn't stop laughing at that...
I envy you, getting to watch them for the first time. Enjoy. Tell a couple friends so the show will remain on air.
8 more days till Community goes back on air!!! Thank you Jesus!!! <object width="512" height="288"><param name="movie" value="http://www.hulu.com/embed/eGYIsii4hswfQajiVRApLQ"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.hulu.com/embed/eGYIsii4hswfQajiVRApLQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="512" height="288" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object> <iframe id="NBC Video Widget" width="512" height="347" src="http://www.nbc.com/assets/video/widget/widget.html?vid=1389340" frameborder="0"></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zgHFL3eW4nY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And the quest for six seasons and a movie returns! I can only imagine how off the rails they went when they started writing in a vacuum; let's hope for a Conan O'Brien style soaring to new heights in the face of cancellation, rather than a Conan O'Brien on TBS fade into bolivion.
