Exactly! Martin and scola are solid players, but if they're you're best players, you're going to lotto land or close enough to it. I would just look for the best deal and this isn't it. If Boston offered rondo,Jeff Green, and picks, rondo is the young talent I would be happy with. Green is kinda of up and down, but he has talent and is in the last year of his contract. That would be better than the deal present.

More like Stern just moved pawn 10 steps up to checkmate everyone, and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

if we get out of this trade without having to give up ppat, then morey's a genius. if we give up ppat, then sterned owned our faces.

Yes there is, you can refuse to play in Stern's pool.

Dealing with New Orleans was always risky, as soon as Stern pulled the plug, I would have walked from the deal, not offered a NICKEL more...

Ir Morey offered anything more for what was already an agreed upon deal, anything of signifigance, than he got played.

So you don't think he will come to one point where he is inclined to resign because of difference in ideology?

As long as the Lakers can get Howard, Stern NEEDS to veto the trade.

Even if he refuses now, we still got screwed. Martin is already done with this Franchise. I can't imagine him being too thrilled about coming back, and other teams will deliberately lowball us for him. And it's just Martin...the teams won't get fair value for all players involved.

What about New Orleans? Damp has to get approval for all deals now? This is just a big mess already and Stern's involvement is just messing up the franchise even more.

I think the main concern is salary. Younger players can mean cheaper salary in the long term. They also want minimal payroll for selling the team.

In the original trade the Hornets were a salary dumping group.

Several months ago Buss was rumored to be looking to move salary and Odom's name was brought up. The media were laughing at the Lakers. Now they say Stern is power hungry to deny this and Odom's a nifty pick up by Demps?

    !!!

True, But You never know he might show morey wassup if he gets to play and the roster stays the same and just sign dalembert. and prove to morey what he is trading. He got alot of anger in him he probaly wanna play right now and score so much points to make morey change his mind or make morey look dumb. for trying to trade him...at least martin is loyal. he woulda probaly sign a extension. I just wanna see us play cancel the trade. and work with what we got and sign a center.

You can walk away, and mend the bridges with Luis and Kmart etc....Robert Horry got traded and he was fine when that trade got rescinded.

Yeah not everyone is ****ing Robert Horry. Kevin Martin has been acting like a top notch b****. I doubt we could mend the fence with him, but Scola just wants to place.

The relationship can be mended with Martin, and Luis understands its a business. With that being said, if that happened, we go back to the same mediocre team that struggles to get 8th seed and can't land a star. I would rather go with Gasol and see where that team can go.

If we kept Martin, he would have no choice but to play for us. Most he would be able to do is walk during free agency.

Watch Morey pull the bait n' switch and swap T. Williams, Jordan Hill, and C. Bud instead of K Mart in the trade.

    !!

martin want's to stay. he's gonna show morey what' he was trying to trade. and score big in 1st game. watch if that happens. but martin is a good guy and he would and still think if MOREY talks to him personally and apologize or somethin. either way martin woulda been our SG for years he's loyal not wanting to go to a diffrent team.

What I want to know is, why is Morey so into this deal? Teams are signing free agents left and right. We are being held up for something that doesn't look that fantastic to me. Why doesn't he just say to Stern, "Forget it. I'm pulling out to do other things. When you are ready, call back and see if I'm still interested."

This deal seems to be Morey's ABSOLUTE number one priority. I'd like to believe that he does have something up his sleeves pending on this deal. If he doesn't, then I am mightily disappointed in him. You go through all these, missing out on signing some important FAs just for a second class star?
