Thats the same game I saw, the Mav fans I know are all amazed at how good the Rockets played. They thought the streak was going to end last night.

This is my first post since the Dallas game, and I must say this:

Not ONCE, EVER, in my whole life of being THE fanatic, THE competitor have I come out of a losing situation so incredibly happy.

I am extremely confident when I say that this Rockets team is top 3 or 4 in the LEAGUE next year. I have no doubt in my mind.

The 2 best defensive C's in the league are David Robinson and Dikembe Mutombo. Other the next two are Shaq and Ratliff. With Robinson retiring, Mutombo ALREADY old and will be worn out from the Nets running style, the only people who can stop Yao are Shaq and MAYBE Ratliff.

Oh, and I don't base this on Yao Ming's game, or future greatness. No. I say this based on the fact that yao won't be a rookie, and the only other improvement in the team is more strength for Eddie Griffin. If you add those 2 things into this Rockets team, we are top 4.

    Dallas fan here:

I just want to commend you guys for an incredible pick. I was definitely one of the skeptics concerning Ming. I was just not overly confident that he'd turn out to be a play. Man, I was so wrong. I now believe that it is imperative for the Mavs to win the championship within the next 2 years if they want to have a chance (with Nash and Finley getting old) because the Rockets will just be badass if Yao keeps it up.

With that said...It seems like ya'll are forgetting something: The Mavs currently have 3 true PF's/C's healthy. I sincerely hope, for the sake of our season, that Raef and Esch would have a little more success in defending Yao. Yao just bullied over Shawn. It was quite sad. Raef would atleast have more strength to keep Yao from pushing him in (more of a combination of Najera and Bradley). Esch is not much, but he can definitely out muscle Yao (that's all Esch is good for :))

Anyway, I just wanted to remind you that our frontcourt is very thin right now. Hopefully when we get Raef, Esch, and Popeye back we can see a little more low post defense out of our guys.

Regardless, Yao's something, and I'm rooting for him...

It's 4pm and I have heard Chance's Yao Ming song several times on the Radio today and on different sports stations. In case anyone in Houston does not know we have 3 all sports stations in Dallas.

The latest radio host to rave about Yao Ming is Chuck Cooperstein who is called the Higher Authority because of his vast knowledge of sports. He basically has Yao Ming in the Basketball Hall of Fame. :D

Everyone is shocked about what they saw last night. I have lived in Dallas since 1991 and I have never known any Houston player or Team to get so much play on the airways here. I still think we let one get away last night but it has been a good day in Big D listening to people talk about Yao Ming and how Houston is going to be scary...This Year!

On the flip side Steve Francis has received a ton of bad press here for the comments he made after the game.

Steve and Cat just need to hit shots and Dallas won't play a zone. He was just upset about losing. Great to hear about Yao's press there. I hope Yao plays this well in the big media centers and die hard fan towns like NYC, Chicago, Philly, and Boston. If Yao puts up 30 and 16 in those cities then he'll get serious respect.

    From the Chron...

Francis said the Mavs stopped the Rockets by playing a zone, as if it didn't really count because they did not play man-to-man.

"Don Nelson's not stupid," Francis said. "He knows they can't beat us unless they play the zone, so he packed that zone in for 48 minutes. That's probably one of the smartest things he's done this season. They did a good job of packing it in on Yao late in the game. I thought they sat a guy in his lap (in the second half)."

I was about to post the same thing. I think Rome was happy to have the opportunity to bash The Death Stick, Shawn Bradley, once again.

Let's enjoy the praise while we can.

It's incredible how many times the Ticket plays that song. I don't listen to the Ticket because I think it's garbage, but I have co-workers that do. They keep coming by and telling me, "they're playing your song again" ("your" meaning my Rockets' song :D)

Ok, so I've been out of the loop for a couple of days. What is up with this trading Cat talk? Did something happen to make everyone think this or is this just rumors on the board??

Oh my GOD! You are right!

Talk about legitimizing his game! Yao could get 40 in New York and 35
    in Chi-town!

"Yao-mainia sweeps the nation!" - New York Times

The funny thing is, NY fans feel they got robbed by us in the draft!

Considering the Hakeem vs Ewing battles. Then, we get Yao! Talk about
    rubbing it in! :)
