While hearing the report of Stoudamire and Wallace getting busted it reminded me of how Damon almost became a Rocket a few years ago and how happy I am that fell through. Had we got him who knows where Francis would be playing. We probably wouldn't have Yao either...all the pieces that fall into place would have been changed for years. (I can get really deep when I start talking about this stuff so be careful.) Can you think of other near misses that could have really screwed this team up, the way we know it now?

Was Pippen ever a Rocket? That seems like such a bad dream or something that it couldn't have possibly been true.
Hmm, wasn't there a trade where Sean Elliott almost became a Rocket (maybe in a trade for Horry), but then he failed his physical?
I remember that. When I heard about that purposed trade I remember thinking NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Dude had a shooting percentage that would embarass Stackhouse back then. It's like, damn people(Rudy, CD), pick up a paper once in a while(boxscores). I can't remember if it involved 1 or 2 1st rounders from us but I thought then(and now) it would be the single worst trade in Rocket history.
