I mean Franchise was averaging what 30 ppg? C'mon 16 ppg aren't Stevie numbers. I won't even start with the rest of the them. Only person who is actually doing better than normal is Glen Rice.
That's true but I always thought SF was playing more like a SG, kind of like Lakers backcourt (I know I know everybody hates them SORRY). But either way, think about the last couple of games, 16 points is definitely below his career average.
some people are NEVER happy, ya 16 points, but WE WON!!!!!! what i think he had 7 or 8 assits each of the last couple games, let FRANCHISE play. IF we win, then why complain?
Steve isn't used to our 7-6 monster clogging the lanes. He will adjust to the big guy. Chill out already. The Rock are right where the should be. I see them where the Mavs were two years ago. About to move into a new arena. Rebuilding complete for the most part. Just have to retain our core and make a few tweaks. The main thing the Rockets need to do? Play. They need a season or two, to just play together. They will get better with each experience. Add Yao, Franchise, Griff, Mo, & Cat. Mix in some filler and let simmer. In a coupe of years you are making a run for the Title. In the mean time enjoy the simmering. It has been a while since the Rockets were this fun to watch.
The reason is that Steve shot close to 50% in the first few games. In the last five he shot around 40% (33/84). 5-18(Phoenix), 8-20(LA), 5-10(Cleveland), 9-20(Dallas), and 6-16(Wash). He probably has't found his rythm or his adjustment to become a team player is affecting his performance. If he gets his FG% back to around 45, he'll be getting his points.
I think Steve's also been doing a great job of playing smart basketball. He hasn't been forcing the issue at all -- he's played smart basketball, getting himself and teammates involved. He's doing things that don't necessarily equal marks on the stat sheet, but they do equal wins.
