Also can't remember a single sports decision that caused multiple front office execs to seriously consider quitting their jobs. Amazing.

I don't blame him one bit. He's standing up for his principles. I can't say I wouldn't do the same in his shoes.

The plan all along. McHale takes over as GM. The D-League coach becomes head coach.

It's pointless to root for or follow a team that plays in a league equivalent to the WWE in legitimacy. The league needs to pay.

true. morey is probably extremely emotional about this...as any of us would be if we invested that kind of time and effort in to it.

I've always thought Morey had the most to lose here, even more than Demps. I mean, Morey's been selling this whole idea of trading for a star. Finally, he reached that point after failing so many times. He finally sees the light at the end of the tunnel. Perhaps you or I don't believe a Gasol/Nene/Lowry trio can do anything. But you can bet Morey believed it.

And now, he's left with shambles. The one time he finally gets the big deal and it gets nixed on a whim. What's he suppose to do now?

Heard on the radio that the hornets gm had to be talked out of quiting last night. Stern might just be the anti-christ.

Months of planning a deal, selling your pitch to free agents, and the general stress of trying to better the team. All taken away within minutes last night.

Yeah, I wouldn't blame him for quitting. But I would not be happy about it.

All 3 GM's should quit. Although, I wonder if David Stern would get Lebron's junk out of his mouth long enough to notice. You know the real reason was Stern is protecting his boy in Miami and making sure there is only 1 super team so the King of No Rings might actually get one

"thinking about" and letting the media know about it = putting pressure on the league publicly

    when it backfires

I disagree. Multiple elite-level executives walking away makes an even bigger public spectacle of this and exposes Stern and the NBA for what it is. It won't change things overnight, but it will contribute to the public outrage that eventually will force changes.
