    1.Steve Francis-Point Guard
    2.Cuttino Mobley-Shooting Guard
    3.Eddie Griffin-SF
    4.Mo Taylor-PF
    5.Yoa Ming-Center

    1.Steve Francis-needs no explanation.
2.Cuttino Mobley-Can be an offensive threat when he is on his game.
    3.Eddie Griffin-Can he 3's and block shots.
4.Mo Taylor-I see offensive potential in him he needs to be worked into the offense.
5.Yao Ming-He is gonna be a force in the league.

It does not matter who is starting.

The one combination I never want to see again is:

    K. Thomas
    Hawkins
    Moochie
    T. Morris

    What was Rudy thinking?

    FYI -

It's usually a good idea to not start a bunch of new topics at once. Most of these issues (who to start, who to trade and why)have either been brought up ad naseum already or are currently being discussed in other threads.

As for your comments, that starting lineup puts us at a defensive liabilitiy when playing teams with good SF/tall SG. I can actually see Rudy changing the starting lineup depending on who we play.

i still gonna start cato, basiclly because yao has more confidence after watching a few mins of the game. and yao hasn't got the strength for playin that many mins like a starter, as we saw last night, he didn't make much differences as a starter.

plus, this may give yao a 6th man award in his rookie year.

I don't know what game you were watching. Yao made a huge difference.

    18 pts
    8 rebounds
    4 blocks
    2 assists

the Wizards were constantly sagging their defense in on Yao Ming which created a lot of space and open jumpers for Rice, Francis and the other shooters.

Yao Ming was a major difference maker last night.

Yeah I know what you mean. I really hate being 7 and 4 and challanging for the 4th play-off seed.

I say fire Rudy T today and hire Sidney Lowe!

Ruday (pronounced "Roo-day") is a 5' 7" Italian pastry maker who plays off guard in his spare time for the Bologna Creampuffs, a less-than-semipro basketball team.

I hear what you are saying but there are so many new posters these days and sometimes a good thread disappears so fast you don't even get to read it... It's not like the old days back in 2000 when it would take a couple of days for a bad thread to get off the board and a good thread could last forever

True. The dynamics of the "hot" thrad are far to complex to ever really understand!

I thought Ruday was that Sean Astin kid who played for Notre Dame. Either that or the little girl from the Cosby show.

    Out on a limb.....

Until he proves that he cannot hit the jumper, I believe that T-Mo most provides what we don't get from our other perimeter players; defense, ball handling, unselfish play, and prototypical size/speed...

    Therefore, my starting 5 if I'm Rudy is the following;

    C) Ming
    PF) Griffin
    SF) Morris
    SG) Mobley
    PG) Francis

Primary bench players) Cato, Taylor, Rice, and Hawkins.

    Shipped somewhere nice) Kenny Thomas
Shipped to Bolivia for all I care) Moochie Norris

While Mobley is on the IR I would go this way against bigger teams...

    C) Ming
    PF) Taylor
    SF) Griffin
    SG) Hawkins
    PG) Francis

And this way against smaller teams...

    C) Ming
    PF) Griffin
    SF) Rice
    SG) Hawkins
    PG) Francis

    Starting Lineup

Cato / Strong tough, hitting the boards pretty nice.
Griffin / Inside presence, Working the post a little more.
Thomas / Finish up the dirty work, advantage on the mismatch
Hawkins / defensive stop against the SG.
Francis / Offensive blowout, I don't think Francis will score much when Ming is on the floor with him, so he should start and set the momentum early.

Yao Ming / Changes the momentum to the Rockets, and brings chaos to the other team
Taylor / Great chemistry with Ming and post work.
Rice / Outside 3 from the double team
Mobley / Instance offensive off the bench over the backup SG (opponent)
Moochie / Sees the floor well and brings the team together with an offensive lineup.

    C - Ming
    PF - Griffin
SF - Rice (Rice is working well off Ming)
SG - Hawkins (The defensive presence we need at the 2)
    PG - Francis

6th man - Mobley (Let Mobley provide the instant offense as Ming and Francis rest)

    Other key bench contributors:
    Taylor
    Cato
    Morris/Nachbar (depending on matchups.)

Hidden in a closet somewhere with a very strong lock: :D
    Thomas
    Norris
