Anyone else find it ironic that none of the owners seemed to have a problem with it as long as there was a chance for their team to get CP3?

If I was Les I would be furious. My GM just spent how long working on this deal when he could have been working on something else. The league should have stepped in prior to all the the trade work instead of letting teams and GM's waste what precious little time there is prior to the opening of camp.

Pau Gasol is an all-star and Odom was the 6th man of the year. Stop posting.

So upset right now. For those that are happy, you are basically cheering for another 9 seed and 14th pick.

Yeah we've had no trouble finding an all-star with multiple championships with all these assets

    how so?

Gasol is a better scorer and defender than Scola.
Lee is a better defender than Martin and not too worse off on the offensive end.

We would had 16 million to throw at a starting C and backup PG and then could have re-signed Chuck with the MLE

They're trying to spin this as the owners don't want to trade chris paul when they really just don't want to see chris paul dictate where he goes and end up in a big market.

They'll look like liars if CP3 is traded at any point this season. So, the owners are actually making the Hornets worse in the long run when Paul leaves in the next offseason for another team and they have nothing to show for it.

The Kardashians had to be behind this veto. Khloe didn't wanna move to NO.

So technically, Stern did this as due to the league's ownership of NO?

Exactly. We would have been at least 6 seed. The Team was going to be much better. Plus Patterson would have gotten major minutes. The team would be more athletic and much better defensively. Not to mention the rule changes completely screw over Kevin Martin. Might as well call them the Kevin Martin rules... Maybe they are good enough to sneak into the playoffs if Morey finds a way to sign a decent center but not as good as with Gasol.

Reports are the league didn't veto the deal. The Lakers decided to call it off. They wanted a frontcourt player back and Pau didn't want to come to Houston.

The league owns the Hornets. The majority of the league voted against this trade, because it gives LA the next 2 championships. Stern conceded, mostly due to the lockout. I am sure he could have overruled, but he didn't want to make so many owners unhappy.

    I knew they wanted Patterson.

This entire thing was a mess. Time to clean it up.

Lakers knew that deal wouldn't make them that much better. Smart move.
