LarryCoon Larry Coon One more note: NO can't send out just CP3 ($16.4M) and get back Odom, Scola, Dragic & Martin ($31.1M). They have to send more out.
those picks are almost negligible when compared to the juicy lottery pick we will be getting next year 2012. we weren't going to go anywhere but 14th for the freckn 3rd time if we had kept the same lineup.
I confess I can't look at this objectively. I have never liked Gasol. In fact my not liking has bordered on hatred. I begrudgingly have to admit he is a good baller, but I can't wrap my head around the fact that he may now be a Houston Rocket.
Seriously... the picks? Anyone else want to storm the streets in front of Morey's house with pitchforks and torches?
Seriously... a 20s pick in the first round and a second rounder? You can buy those for cash in virtually any draft. Worthless.
Now if we get Okafur and Pau - that would be nice. Great size, shot blocking and rebounding and Paus playmaking ability on offense.
WHAT!!! Seriously? We give up Scola, Martin, Dragic and a pick for Gasol and the Lakers get Okafor? Why can't we get Okafor??? That is unbelievable. I don't necessarily dislike the trade, Gasol is a good player and will be a good player here, but giving Morey's track record; I would expect after giving up all he did, he would get at least a little more than just Gasol....
Prime of his career? He's a nice player that looked hella better playing next to Kobe than he did as the man. Courtney Lee isn't exactly Kobe.
Maybe the Rockets will amnesty Gasol's contract, suck completely this season, and have a ton of cap room plus a high lottery pick this summer. If they go that route, I suppose you'd be all for it?
