How long have I been hearing how valuable that Knicks first round pick is? It's a freaking throw in on this deal. On top of scola, Martin, and dragic like a total afterthought. Frankly I'd rather have that pick alone than a 31 year old pau Gasol.
Look at the Lakers current roster. It would take a minor miracle for them to even make the playoffs. I am sure the Lakers fan base is already in a panic thinking that all they got was Paul. Scola being added makes a lot more sense.
Got home, turned TV to ESPN and bottom of scrolling ticker says "...Rockets expected to give up Scola or Martin, maybe both." My heart starts racing and I stop breathing for a moment before I rush to the laptop. I thought to myself. O.M.G.....this must be HUGE! WHO could we have gotten?!? Open internet and it's....Pau Gasol? No, no...this must be a mistake. WTF?
We should have at least gotten Artest too out of the deal for the package we gave. And Odom would stay with Lakers despite that helping them more.
3PFs: Dirk Nowitzki Tim Duncan Chris Bosh / Amare Stoudemire / Zach Randolph / Blake Griffin (all of those are probably a toss up - but all of them are younger than Pau) 3 Cs: Dwight Howard Marc Gasol (is better suited to play center and a lot younger) Alright I didn`t list 3 centers - simply because there aren`t really that many good centers around. Having said that I don`t believe Pau can be a fulltime center. His skillset is really the skillset of a PF.

Don't worry. Our next year's pick will be much better than any Knicks pick. Knicks with Tyson Chandler is by sure a playoff team and we are going to probably get a top-5 pick.
Absolutely. We aren't building around Gasol to become a contender. He will be the best player on a mediocre team just like he was in Memphis. And we gave up Moreys storied assets to get him with a draft pick on top.
