And a Bynum for D. Howard mid-season trade is now inevitable.

So we just need two spectacular players and we're set? Awesome.

You know what.I'm not wasting my time arguing with you anymore. It's impossible to discuss anything properly with someone that has never seen these players playing.

If the Rockets aren't even in the playoffs, why the heck do we care if the Lakers are a little better or a little worse?

Larry Coon now saying Scola might actually be going to LA...
I have no idea what's going on.

It depends on if they land Howard. As it is, it makes the Lakers worse. I don't think losing Gasol and Odom for Paul makes them better. It makes Bynum their only low-post option, who I don't trust and is injury prone. Paul and Kobe are going to have to learn to coexist.

The one thing it does for LA - if they can re-sign Paul - is it improves their perception and doesn't make their core look as aging. That might help, but as of now, I think the Lakers are worse.

Rockets are trading off Gasol by Feb tradedeadline. You can bet on that.

In the bigger picture, there is a new coach named Brown. While I wont overlook the Lakers, they could implode no matter who is on the team.

    No more Zen

Why is everyone still assuming the Lakers are getting Dwight Howard? They don't have anything else left to trade. If Orlando takes Andrew Bynum, Ron Artest, and a draft pick for Howard then whoever gives the okay is immediately fired and blacklisted. That's like trading a BMW for a Kia.

    yes. REALLY.

Pay and Motiejunas together in the front line is way too soft and way too horrible on defense to work. Not a chance in hell that combo would work IMO.

The guy was the MVP candidate until Bynum went down. We traded two players yet to make an all-star team (I liked them both) and our third string PG (Morey is enamored with Flynn for a reason yet to be seen). I'm not thrilled to see DH12 end up in LA and create the best 1-2-3 punch if healthy in a very long time but that's not done yet either.

I'm going to see what happens next but I'm satisfied that at least we cut down our roster by two. We are way over loaded with players who should be rotational.

    Lowry/ Flynn
    Lee/ TWilliams
    Buddinger/ Morris
    Gasol / Patterson/ Hill
    FA Center / Thabeet

We have room now to make a move or two and it's nice to know that Morey knew the team wasn't going to compete.
