I don't mind the scola for gasol trade but to take martin as well? dragic is a back up but a perfectly capable one, and then you throw in picks as well? there's no way you justify that unless they have another deal in place.

Clutchfans in times like this is so hard to read.

We got 9 out of 10 posters flipping a sh** even though we got arguably the best center in the NBA (yeah, I said it).

We got OHMSS talking about Juan Carlos Navarro and telling everyone they don't watch basketball. Comical.

Guys, Morey did the impossible: he flipped an aging, soon-to-be-overpaid Scola, Martin, a replaceable player, Dragic, someone who would've left via free agency next year anyways, and a low first rounder for Pau Gasol--all-star, TWO-way player, BIG man!

When was the last time we had a skilled 7-footer? Oh yeah, he stopped playing 3 years ago.

I think most people here don't mind Gasol. Yes, he collapsed last year in the playoffs, but he's still a very good 7ft PF. It's what Morey traded to get him. It's too much. If he kept Martin, it would've been a solid trade, especially with NO getting a decent PG backup in Dragic and 2 draft picks.

A first rounder in the 20s has neutral to negative value. You can buy into that range of the draft almost every year.

Can we stop with Marc Gasol stuff already? He's a restricted free agent and Memphis will match

I may be in the minority here but I am pretty happy with this move.
    C'mon now.
    Lowry----Lowry
    Martin---Lee
    Bud/Morris/twill-----Bud/Morris/twill
    Scola----Ppat
    Hayes-----Gasol

Everyone said we NEED a center, well that's what we got. Now everyone is flaming Morey. Lee is just as good as Martin and was the starter for an Orlando team that made it to the finals. He proved last year that he could start. All we need to do is sign either a decent pf (nene) or a sf and we are set.
    Possible lineup next year:
    Lowry/Flynn
    lee/bud?
    bud/morris/twill
    Nene/ppat
    Gasol/Hill/thabeet

This team would be fun to watch even without nene. Gasol isn't seen as good as he really is because of his disappointing playoffs. I'm looking forward to next year even more now. GO ROCKETS

The trade sucks because Martin is in it. Hell of a player.

A supplemental piece. Not a guy you build around. Especially not on this side of 30. Mediocrity reigns.

Let me get this straight....so we traded our 1st lottery protected for TWill...

now we traded our two best players and a quality backup point for an aging B+ lvl star player.

Which would put us, if we get a quality big in free agency, at about the 6 or 7 seed to likely be eliminated in the first round.

Which then means we lose our pick to NJ. Leaving us with no more cap room after signing Nene, and no draft picks in what could be one of the best draft classes in, well, maybe forever.

While LA gets to have Chris Paul and Dwight Howard and run roughshod over all the teams in the west.

Why again??! I just don't understand this at all :mad::mad:

Just because they say two picks to NO doesn't mean both are from Houston. Only one was confirmed as the Knicks pick. The other could be from LA.

Motiejunas and Pau front line will never work. Motiejunas will probably be traded. if not, he will just be playing 10-15 minutes a game for as long as he is with the Rockets.
