He could. He would just need to buyout his contract. He just extended his contract through the year 2015 last week. As far as I know it has no opt out option. However, his buyout situation had to have changed. His contract had a 10 million euros buyout amount. So I am sure that he had that buyout greatly reduced when he signed that extension last week. So, I am seriously hoping that this is a 2 part deal. First, get Gasol, then get Navarro Start with those two and add good role players (which is what Morey has proven he is good at) and the Rockets can win a title immediately.

Go after Marc Gasol pairing the two brothers up would be great Also unless they are able to somehow swing a Bynum for Howard Deal i dont see what pieces the Lakers could give up for Howard... I could be mistaken isnt the new CBA making it easier to keep their own free agents? so if howard says he'll walk from Orlando he'll lose a lot more money and if howard goes to NJ and decides to walk he'll still lose a lot of money. IMO though the lakers will be going away from the triangle and gasol would have been less effective you will be taking the ball out of kobe's hands and into cp3's but how long will kobe like that the triangle was great for him now its a whole new offense without the bigs being able to facilitate. lakers would lose a lot of versatility that odom and gasol brought. oh yeah but make no mistake LA will still be a top 1-3 team in the NBA let alone the west still but i expected that anyway even without this trade.
