I'm going this Friday. I heard the same thing as doboyz in that the start time is 7:30, but they don't get on stage until 9 or so. So what goes on for about two hours from 7:30 to 9 or so? The reviews said that there is no opening act.

Just drink, walk around, eat, buy some shirts. Not much to do until they come on. But trust me when I say it'll be worth the wait once they come. Such an amazing show. I literally did not sit down through any of it. Me and my friend drinking and getting hyped up with everyone in our row when each song came on.

AMAZING concert! The concert starts around right around 9-9:10, so make sure you're in your seats by then. Alot of people just go around and drink and eat before the concert starts, so just plan around the 9pm start time.

Rediculous set list, and the performances were crazy. Alot of fun if you have alot of crazy fans around you that are dancing and having a good time also. I maybe sat down for 10 minutes combined the whole night. What a great night!

Damn, real hip heads know Jay z and kanye are partially overrated. I'm always confused by why they're so popular, probably because the radio told y'all these guys were good. I bet that their concert wasn't close to a tech n9ne concert(which is also half the price)but if you're a radio sheep, it seems like expensive ass tickets were worth it.

    Jay-z and Kanye West suck.

Thats not music...its nonsense. Bentley's, Crystal, Money, Millions...
most fans are probably below the median wage and a majority are below
the poverty line yet they're worshipping these clowns.

I believe Jay Z is great because he gave me this:
    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/OYIsa_u_C-s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zxtn6-XQupM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/QePjIIBI-sI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    And I could keep going.

Take the hate somewhere else. This isn't a debate thread.

My goodness, some of y'all are special.

You do know some Jay-Z and Kanye fans like myself DON'T listen to the Radio because we know they don't play "real hiphop" but we can appreciate the catalog that Jay-z and Kanye bring to the table. You know one can appreciate The Roots, Technine, Immortal, Lupe, etc and still not mind any of the songs mrm32 listed or even the lighter songs like N**** in Paris and other light songs Kanye and Jay-Z have done right? Jeez.

Yup, every and any one that listens to Jay-z and Kanye is a radio sheep. Of course, with the fact that they're partially overrated then it must be a done dollar that their concert must be overrated. Rrrrriiight!

Well if you're talking specifically about the WTT album, I'd partially agree but keep in mind that they have more than one album and a lot more songs than those glorifying the things you've mentioned.

I paid no more than $20 for the last few rap shows I went to, and that that money is usually split between the artists I choose to support, the promoter and the venue for putting the show together. How much did y'all pay for overrated, half assing rappers? And think about why they had to make the tickets cost that much.

I'm paying to be entertained and I was. Whether I paid 200 for floor seata or 50 for nosebleeds I was extremely satisfied nonetheless. To have an amazing catalog of songs that these two have and be able to put on an amazing show is worth whatever price you have especially when this will probably be the only time they'll tour together or at least perform in Houston together. It's out money we chose to spend, why does it matter to you so much?

Sorry if I offended you, but your tickets cost do much because it costs millions in marketing schemes to make these clowns popular. They are obviously molded into what the labels want people to think of them and roll with it, even Jay z admits that his raps are half assed, why? So he can sell to a mainstream audience. To me this is extremely offensive and you all should feel doped.

I care so much because hip hop is one of the things in life that I cherish, while it has its flaws, hip hop ha still helped shape the person I am, and has helped me through the good and bad in life.

And it's artists in the mainstream destroying it. I don't even consider jay z, eminen, drake, or kanye hip hop. They are now cookie cutter pop artists, but the media has fooled you all into thinking its hip hop. And that means it is destroying what I love, and I'd fight for that.

Not offended at all, just wanted to see things from your perspective. While I do agree that he watered down his lyrics for the sake of earning a dollar, can you blame him? I think we can all agree Reasonable Doubt is a hip hop classic. But look at the numbers when that album first came out. Not that great. For a guy coming out of the streets being involved with drug dealing I'm sure one of the main things he was focused on was being able to make as much as he could and in order to appeal to a wide audience he had to "dumb down for [his] audience to double [his] dollars." I would absolutely love it if he went back to his old rhyming ways but I know that ain't happening. I just have to accept that and appreciate it what he puts out now although completely different from when he began.

I didn't pay anything since I didn't go to the concert. Last I heard, they weren't half-assing it at their concert, but then again i wasn't there.

Why should one feel doped? It depends on what one is looking for when listening to their music. If I want to listen to what you might term "real hip hop", I know whom to listen to. We have a thread created a few months ago on the new cats in the game. One can listen to them and still listen to a Jay-Z or Kanye.

I also love how you choose to tell us the media has fooled us. It'd be one thing if you said, the media has fooled most of the mainstream public but to assume those on here that have no problem listening to Jay-Z or Kanye are "radio sheeps" is silly on your part.

Nonetheless, I understand your beef with them and those ruining hip hop(I'd place radio stations VERY high on that list).
