I was watching last night's game with oh so much delight,
watching Yao Ming dunk on every Mav in sight.
Yao's shoot was pure art, as only
    Picasso would know.
His shoots looked fantastic as they
    would fall though the basket.

Yet, Steve "the Franchise", who is great in his own right.
Could not understand what it took to win that night.
He scored 22 in 9 for 20 shooting,
    forcing many shots that
    he shouldn't have been shooting.

Oh, Francis I know you have much pride.
Yet the offense must flow through Yao
if your Rockets are to survive.

    Yao passes out without hesistation,
to the open man in the best situation.

Francis you are the team's heart and soul,
but through Yao your offense must flow.

Only then will you see wins come easier,
thrusting your team to basketball's pinnacle .

Isn't an "ode" usually a poem that praises someone or something? Oh well, you'll never get mistaken for Edgar Allen Poe any time soon...

Francis is struggling with this pride, right now.

Considering the Rockets can't sell out with him as the "star"
should have giving him the hint.

He's still the floor leader. But, not "da'man!"

Steve's has 3 more years of practice.

This is bull crap, did you even watch the game?

Am I the only one who noticed that there were like, 4 or 5 occasions where Francis gave Ming the ball, but he would get hacked before he could take the shot?

The Francis hating on this site has gotten ridiculous. 9-20 shooting. That's f'ing good for anybody not named Ming, especially a guard. I guess we can blame Francis for absolutely no one else on the team stepping up besides him and Ming?

As a side note, the cool thing thus far about Ming is his big games (Lakers/Dallas), well, they've come in big games. Pressure players are awesome.

Poor Stevie. Working his ass off and he gets poems written about his inabilities.

rocketman you are an idiot....ming could only do so much. the mavs adjusted their defense on ming in the 2nd half and they were much much much tougher on him. don't talk **** about steve when he was almost singlehandedly winning a couple games for us a few games back. geez man you are such a shortsighted person. its guys like this who look for the bad out of a good situation that irritate the hell out of me.

ming had a great game and so did the rockets, but the bottom line is THE MAVERICKS ARE A BETTER TEAM! get it through your head...they are experienced and know how to win in the 4th quarter and know how to lock down on defense. we didn't do that...it wasn't francis' fault...did you happen to see how much we lost by? it was our whole defense's fault!!! argh!

Yao Ming's unselfishness is very refreshing - somewhat mindboggling in these days of "me first" mega athletes.

But I am confident that Stevie is smart enough to realise that he will better with YAO as his ally. Mo Tailor was the first to realize this - Eddy Griff is begining to do likewise - Stevie will be fine.

    Wow Yao!

Imagining Jeff Van Gundy jumping up and down yesterday still gives me the tingly feeling

SF and Ming were doing fine. Just no support from the teammates.

You guys need to grow up, this was a solid poem RM2000, and it is not bashing steve, but is truthful. I thought it was a good read, and made a lot of sense, and you guys really need to stop being so negative. He wasn't bashing Steve, yet you guys expect the worse from the start.

Has positive thinking completely left some on the board, and for that matter critical thinking, because if so, it's a sad, day for this bbs.

I have long been a proponent that this forum is slanted way to the negative side right now, and then, when some you think you are being positive your responses come off as exerting negative vibes.

Like the majority of those in this thread.

I just wonder where good critical thinking and the enthuasism of being rockets fans has gone on this board.

    Because something's missing.

And if you want a positive Francis rap, here, by yours truly :)

    Allen Iverson vs Steve Francis

    Iverson

    My name is Allen
    People be Howlin'
    After watching me play
I am the best in the N-B-A
    Steve Francis what is he?
    the other number three?
    Make da playoffs Steve
then you can talk to me
    Driving the lane
    Taking the pain
    Nobody be tougher than me
    He's just another wannabe.
    You heard me Steve
    I won't let you breathe.
You'l be my slave every day
Watching me and my team reign every May.

    Francis

    Allen don't be playa hatin
    Just cause you're overatted
    You have nuttin on me
I am da real number three
    Taking the pain?
You be injured every other day
Bring your sh*t up in my house
I'll make you look like Mickey Mouse
    Playing in May
    That's just lame.
    It's all about June
My game is a Raging Typhoon
You can't hold a candle to me
Cause I be da real number three
    Stroking J after J
Makin' you my b*tch every day

Anyways, good poem RM2000, and myself personally win or lose will enjoy going to my first rockets game tonight, and win or lose I will have a fine time, especially heckling Mr. Jor-DAN.
