As long as they are meeting them, they can show the fans they are trying even if they have no intention to signing them towards those ridiculous contracts they are looking for. I wish we could get one of them, but not at their price.

If you can flip Chandler or Nene and they are "tradeable assets", go for it. Just like with the Ariza signing.
They could be part of a sign and trade for Howard next off-season. So hopefully the contracts are high because it will make it easier for us to match salaries when trying to get Howard. Wishful thinking.

Yeah, right. Since when have Morey upped the bidding for ANY player? Not to mention the Rockets lack the capspace to pay them what they ask for anyway. Morey sets the floor for these guys. That is, we at least have an offer if they can't get ridiculously overpaid elsewhere.

Chandler's the guy we can get and he would be a perfect fit. We'd have to overpay and his health history makes a long-term deal risky, but at least we're finally in contention for a major free agent. I'd prefer Nene, but that's not happening.
