I know Yao had a dominating game last night. However in the 2nd half, when Dallas tighten the zone around Yao, he looked lost. The guards were looking for him, but he did not RAISE his arm to call for the lob passes. It's hard for guards to lob the ball to Yao when they don't know how high the pass needs to be. I suspect it has to do with Yao's weak upper body strength.

Also, the Rockets should have tried to put up a lot more 3's when the zone tightened. Why drive to the inside when it's already clogged up with 3 mavs and Yao?

It is true. For as well as Yao played, Najera gave him a lot of problems in the 4th quarter. Najera was fronting Yao and being very active, and Yao had trouble establishing position on him. I wouldn't say the zone was the issue, because in the first half the Rockets effectively moved the ball around to create openings for Yao underneath. What is clearly evident is that Yao should be touching the ball on every Rockets offensive possession in the half court set. When this occurred last night, our offense got a major upgrade from the dribbling shenanigans we have all grown accustomed to.

Hell with zone and hell with Najera. Do not tell me the rockets cannot throw a lob over a 6-8 hacker to a 7-6 center. THat is ridiculous, there is only ONE reason ming didn't get the ball, our guards refuse to pass.

What game were you watching ??

You can't blame the lack of Ming getting the ball,in the 4th,on the guards.Ming was exhausted and wasn't moving around much or getting into position to receive the pass.I saw guys look his way several times but he was always out of position..I also agree with the first guy that Ming needs to get his hands in the air.

one more thing...... Dirk is right behind Yao....a lob pass wouldn't be so easy to get to Yao either.....

Yeah, it was kinda obvious that Yao was getting tired towards the end. He did get banged a lot out there and had logged 33 minutes, the most he's ever played in his whole Bball career probably. don't forget, he's only 10 games into the season and is still working on strength and conditioning.

Yeah I got to see the game... I think Yao needs to stick his hands up in the air. Even if he can't shoot the ball he could get the ball and open it up for the guards to drive in. After bradley fouled out why didn't yao defend dirk. He's got the height to cause trouble for the guy

It's Rudy's fault. He saw the game slipping away, so he put Yao back too soon. Yao didn't have enough rest. :(
