He wasn't fooling no one. An announcement to state he was remaining in the race would be the dumbest thing in years. I truly don't understand how one decides to enter a political race and doesn't make sure their "affairs" or skeletons in the closet have been sorted out so it doesn't come back to affect them. You know your opponents are going to be looking through everything to get dirt. So long Herman Cain.
He wanted to sell more books and increase his speaking fees, nothing more. Oh, and obligatory joke about him being good at pulling out.

Are you calling Cain an Uncle Tom? Total racist thread. Anyone who knows about the history of this country knows it!
I guess it's kinda sad that Perry lasted longer than Cain. Cain was nutty, but Perry seemed to have some kind of weird swagger or hubris that kept him from really preparing or engaging on the issues. The guy's a 20+ year administrator at the state level of government but he's relying on partisan schtick and undocumented groundskeepers.
Frankly, Mitt Romney is resorting to partisan schtick this time around too (can't talk about foreign policy without blathering on about the made-up "Obama apology tour," for example). It's that kind of year. Can't really run on the record of being an executive, must bring the red meat. GOP voters want their candidate to be Rush Limbaugh basically. This is why Newt is winning votes with his "challenging Obama to Licoln Douglas debate" gimmick.
What a pitiful excuse for a candidate. Cain showed himself to be an empty suit with an all encompassing ego. Yeah, that equals hollow inside.
And the worst part, is the establishment didn't even flinch at his ineptitude as a potential leader, decision maker, rhetorician, or diplomat. They didn't care that he was an idiot stuck on repeat, but they just couldn't overlook his pattern of adultery/sexual deviance. It took sex life minutia to rile up the NO faithful. Part of me would actually like to see the NO win the election, if only for a moment, just to see what they would do first. I mean this hypothetical scenario (which has zero chance of materializing) assumes they've already achieved basically their only goal: send Obama packing. Seriously, I think they would just sit back and look at each other like "well, what now?" and start going down their list of donors handing out kick backs, contracts, and patronage high fives.
The best part is the awesome irony of former Cain supporters jumping on the Gingrich bandwagon. Apparently Gingrich's adultery is ok? Either way what a joke.
