Just an FYI - the BBS is seeing staggering traffic and growth the last week as a result of Yao. In the last 8-1/2 hours alone, there have been 108 registrations for the board.

Anyhow, Jordan is in town tonight.

Let's see, the Wizards are over .500, so that means another notch in the loss column...

    easy money...

It will be more telling to see how Yao plays in a back to back situation after playing a lot of minutes the night before.

I am very excited by his play, and think the Rockets are going to be a LOT better after the first of the year.

Interesting matchup with last year's #1 Kwame Brown. Yao is light year's ahead of him!

I think the Rockets should win this one. The one-two punch of Francis and Yao is too much.

I will never forget the back-to-back game against Atlanta when the Rockets lost, to end their 15 game win streak. But I always thought veteran teams suffer more on back to backs. Yao seems to get winded quick , even in the world games.

With the Rockets playing the way they did against the Mavs ....its going to be exciting to be a Rockets fan for sure..

The Wizards do have the advantage of the back to back on the road .....But I dont see it being enough to beat the Rockets. After the Mav game, this is a new Rocket bunch,,

I am also earger to see how Yao responnds to the back to back NBA situation. I think Mobes is gonna have a good game tonight as well. The game is a toss up, the Wiz are solid but we do play well at home so who knows?

If we play against the Wizards the way we did against the Mavs I think we'll have a W.
I hope we dont make the mistake of jackin up 3's in the first trying to get ahead quick or trying to shorten a small Wizards lead.
Im intrested to see if we will get any blocks on Jordan or Stackhouse.
Hopefully Ming will have another big night this time being pumped up to play against the "greatest".
Im sure Jordan plans on having a big game as he has another pair of shoes being released tomorrow morning.

I thought last nights game was an emotional one with the Rockets having a very real chance at victory until Yao Ming went out in the 3rd. I hope they are able to bounce back mentally for this game tonight.

The matchup that I am looking at tonight is Kwame vs. Eddie. Eddie was looking real good last night in the first half but didn't seem to have his shot in the second half. I thought Yao Ming and Eddie Griffin looked real good together last night in the second quarter.

So will Yao Ming get the start tonight? I am I think he will.

    Steve Francis
    Cuttino Mobely
    Kenny Thomas or Glen Rice
    Eddie Griffin
    Yao Ming

And I happen to think that Yao Ming will continue his hot shooting.

The Rockets are one trade away from contention. They desparately need a SF!! Not KT, he cannot play SF. Not Rice! he is to inconsistent. We need a SF that can drain 3's like Finley did last night on us. This team relied on 3 point shooting for our back-to-back titles, and outside of Boki (?), we do not have any pure shooters from downtown. With Rudy's mind set on KT being our SF, Boki will never make it into the rotation.

I first thought, YAo will be exhuasted from playing last night, and would not have a good night, but then it is aginst Jordan! if anyone could remember, he was on Jordan's summer camp when he was a teenage, and Jordan showed greatest interest in him. they are friend since. and from that perspective, Yao will have another great night. Jordan must feel bad that Yao wasn't eligible for last yr's draft, otherwise, he could have Yao :)

I think Rudy T has to play KT now so he will know what to do with him either before the trade deadline or in the off-season.

At some point Boki will be a major contributor on this team, maybe not this year but at some point.

I'll be curious if the Wizards double team Ming right off the bat.

I don't think the Wizards are that good, but they are dangerous esp. with our-back-to-back. Cuttino/Hawk need to D-up on Stackhouse and Jordan. Also, we can't let Brendan Haywood, who is quite solid, go off against us inside. Should be another win, though, and it better be a sellout.

    My Yao Ming prediction...

    Yao Ming vs. Christian Laettner

    74 points
    44 rebouds (18 offensive)
    19 blocks
    9 steals

    errrrr......

Rockets should win this game, but I predict that they will have some trouble pulling away. We should see Cat pick it up again and start making some baskets, but expect Yao to score 10 - 15 points only.

I wanna see Yao pass some alley oops to francis. With his height I think a pass from him to a high flyer like steve will be unstoppable. But i agree about the back to back nights. He seemed pretty tired at the 4th so I hopehe can keep it up tonight.

I like the sound of the lineup of

    steve
    cat
    rice
    Griffin
    Yao

I agree with DaDakota..I'm interested to see how Yao plays tonight after loggin all of those minutes last night. He got knocked around pretty good last night and tonight will be a good test to his stamina.

I personally think he will be fine...and score 25.
    I LOVE THIS TEAM!

I think if the Wizards try to double team Yao he could have a huge night and show off his great passing ability. The thing is, whereever the double team is coming from the player left alone needs to cut to the basket instead of just spotting up for a 3!!

Really....we shouldn't have too much trouble with the Wizards....they're not that good of a team.

Yeah, I live in the DC area and from what I've seen of the Wizards, they're not as good as their record but the Rockets can't overlook them. If the Rockets can maintain their focus, however, I think they can kick the Wizards' asses. That's a big "if", though :)

Everyone is talking about how winded Yao gets and I agree that he needs to develope indurance, but I'd like to point out one thing I noticed that all of you have not mentioned; HE HUSTLES. Most big centers like Ewing, Mourning, and even Hakeem often took their time getting back on defense, but I constantly find Yao among the first ones to hustle down the court. Still needs to improve so that he can run all night, but this is my personal observation and some of you might disagree
