I like what everybody said. But I think Charles bringing up the question of whether Mike would win 8 is a trap. You can't say that with 100% certainty. Rockets were 5-1 against the Bulls from '91-'93. Then you'll have your homers that say the regular season doesn't matter. But they also bring up the 72 win season. It's possible that Michael could be the best player ever, but it's also possible that he could have lost in the finals. The two don't always come hand in hand.

And of course, people forget that for those two, they had no major talent on the frontline. Grant had gone and Rodman had yet to arrive. Dream and Thorpe would have killed them. Especially Dream.

It was interesting how while everyone pretty much agreed that Jordan was the GOAT, there was a good amount of Magic love as the person you would want to play with and start a franchise with

That, and Jordan was freaking there when the Rockets won the second ring. Shaq's Magic just trampled the **** out of them...

There's several things that happened in NBA history that affected everything.

    Magic suddenly retiring for HIV
    Len Bias died
Spurs giving away Rodman to the Bulls for crap

I was thinking the other guys were going to give Kerr a hard time about getting punched by Jordan.

Larry's always going to be slighted in these conversations, but I'd like to see how MJ and Larry would have done in their primes.

The year before Larry got to Boston they were 29-53. Larry comes in they go 61-21. A year after that they win the championship. They also made the finals 4 years in a row, and had to play the Lakers 3 out of 5 times.

Micheal never had that kind of competition. In fact the Pistons who ultimately seeded the celtics in the east denied micheal for 3 years in a row.

So, you can't go by championships. For his era, Micheal's mix of will to win and talent was the highest. But had he come along in Larry's era it wouldn't have been. Larry had it and so did Magic.
