With all the attention on Nene and Tyson Chandler we should consider a smaller salary type Center to fill in the gap and maybe become a backup for our "franchise" Center.

I bring to the table this unrestricted free agent:

I love Chuck but Mbenga will be cheaper than keeping chuck.

Mbenga is also a shot blocker...foul machine but a shot blocker.

I really have no idea who he is, and at 30 you can't give the man much money ha. I'm more for just starting Thabust over this guy... Although we could call him Dumbow with those ears.

Na Thabust has been practicing at the Austin YMCA... Nobody else will play with him. DD has gotten to check out his game.

Didn't we get that kid from UH who is a scrub... Parsons maybe? Let him do it. We will be on our path to a top 5 pick. Then we can get Drummond :)

We only need a "good" backup if we are really trying to "win now" which seems unrealistic barring a huge trade of the Dwight Howard magnitude. Otherwise put Thabeet out there and worse case he is terrible, we lose a bunch of games and get a high draft pick. Best case he developes and shows he is a player who can contribute.

    This is just cheap talk.

If your wrong, nobody will remember you saying this.

But if your right, somebody will go ahead and find this quote and they'll wonder how you gained this insight.

Fesenko is a younger version of Marc Gasol but with more upside and not nearly as expensive. However, let's see what Thabeet can do in pre- and early season before we make judgments. Thabeet and Fesenko might be the solution at center.

That's a poor comparison. I just made a post in the 'under the radar FA' thread suggesting we consider Fesenko, but comparing him to Gasol makes you sound bonkers (no offense).

But size-wise, okay. Fesenko is enormous just like Gasol.

But to suggest they're similar or that Fesenko has more upside is quite ridiculous. Fesenko has absolutely no ball or post skills, he's clumsy and has a hard timing not committing a turnover every time he touches the ball.

Put it this way: when Marc Gasol shoots a FT, you don't think to yourself "Gee, there's a 60% chance this aint going in!".
