The grumpy old man routine without any annoying kids.

I just discovered Peep Show, and it's quickly becoming my favorite show ever. I've watched 20 episodes in the last three days.

Netflix has all seven six-episode series available to stream. Apparently Channel 4 has bought two more seasons, set to begin airing next year.

    From wiki:

Ricky Gervais has been cited as saying "the last thing I got genuinely excited about on British TV was Peep Show, which I thought was the best sitcom since Father Ted". While presenting an award at the 2005 British Comedy Awards, Gervais called it "the best show on television today" and said it was a "debacle" that it did not win an award.

The entire show is also available for free on Hulu. I've watched all of them (multiple times), and it's unquestionably the funniest British TV show I've ever seen. Maybe the funniest show period.

What is Peep Show and Top Gear about? Survivors was one of the many shows I watched this summer, we loved it but since it was cancelled ends on a cliffhanger....

Read the wiki on Peep Show. The season overviews alone are hilarious.

Top Gear is three guys talking about cars, reviewing them, and testing them on the track. The best parts of the show are the elaborate challenges they complete--like driving the length of Vietnam on mopeds or taking cheap, old cars through the Amazon, across Africa, through the Middle East, etc.

Agreed, it's way up there for me. So dark and funny.

The last episode had me crying here:

    <object width="512" height="288"><param name="movie" value="http://www.hulu.com/embed/6QYhiN_xYx6kaEDomIyCUA/542/695"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.hulu.com/embed/6QYhiN_xYx6kaEDomIyCUA/542/695" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="512" height="288" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>

Knowing Super Han's reputation really makes the joke. I just watched this 3x in a row and it still makes me LOL.

Inbetweeners and Top Gear. The bad thing is Top Gear comes out late over here and my dvr has a difficult time telling what is new and what is a rerun. And I think Inbetweeners got cancelled but there were some very funny moments on that show.

There are two "Survivors" series apparently and I think both are British. I assume you are talking the 2008 version. The 2008 series was cancelled due to low viewership after the second season.

I just caught season one and most of season two of the 2008 series on Netflix recently and, I must say, I love this show. The acting is good imo and the storyline is good. I wish "The Walking Dead" was half as good and interesting as this show (even the zombies don't make up for it imo).

I'm not sure why so few people tuned into this show? I guess not many even knew about it at the time just as I didn't and/or it just didn't catch on over there. I wish there were a season 3. I haven't watched the finale yet to see how much they wrap up. Brits can make some damn good shows imo...much better than this American crap.

We watched that over the summer as well and really enjoyed, thought the characters were well written and acted.

Got bad news for you man, they don't wrap up much as the series 2 finale is a cliffhanger....

Watched the first 2 episodes of Peep Show, me and the wife loved it, totally twisted and hilarious, can't wait to watch more of them....

I started watching Peep Show based on the recommendations in this thread, and while it's not the funniest thing I've ever seen, it's definitely a gem. Too bad I don't get a lot of the UK-specific references or I'm sure it'd be just that much better.

By the way, I love the Johnson character - not in the way Mark loves him though.

Totally agree about it being the funniest show around. I'm that annoying person who's always telling people to watch this show....
