    -Payoff moved up-

In a transparent effort to boost the ratings for his new TNT talk show Listen Up!, Charles Barkley will pay off on his Yao Ming-related wager with network colleague Kenny Smith during the show at 6 p.m. today.

Barkley had promised to kiss Smith's posterior if Yao scored at least 19 points in a game this season. Yao scored 20 last Sunday against the Lakers, and Smith is making Barkley hold up his end of the wager.

"If you make a bet, you pay up," Barkley said Wednesday on a CNN talk show. "I just told Kenny to take a shower before the show. I made the bet, and I'm going to stick by my word."

Smith said earlier this week that Barkley would pay up during halftime of the Rockets-Mavericks game on TNT tonight, but a network spokesman said the event had been moved to the Listen Up! show, which Barkley hosts with Ernie Johnson Jr.

That seems only fair, since Kenny will be holding up his end.

No problem, thanks again for finding that, I usually don't spend too much time digging through espn - too much junk.

On your "url=" take out the "]" and put it after the url address. So it should be "[ url =http:...]Name you want displayed[ /url]" without the spaces.

Thanks again . . ..so here is a vague Yao Ming reference in today’s London Times newspaper (of all places) that I came across by accident. The article concerns the future potential of Chinese players to succeed in professional tennis. Sorry in advance for the most obscure Yao reference of the day:

    November 21, 2002 London Times
“Why the Future Masters Might Be Chinese”
    by Neil Harman, Tennis correspondent

“When a TV audience greater than the entire population of the United States can tune in to watch a Chinese basketball player performing in the NBA, what might happen to Wimbledon’s viewing figures if China found a tennis player who could win on grass?”

This is going to be one fun night! Dream scenario: Sir. Charles pays his debt; Yao scores another 20 pts. and the Rockets win!, that would be awesome!:D :D :D
