It was on. Never seen the entire movie, but I think it shold be nominated as the movie of the century; a great movie. Hats off to Tom Hanks and the director. A true tear jerker.

    Great, great, GREAT, great movie!

I have seen it like 3 or 4 times and I never get tired of it. When Robin Wright Penn dies, it is such a sad scene. I get tears in my eyes when I remember Tom Hanks (who proved that he is up there with DeNiro as one of the greatest actors of our generation with this performance) is at her grave "talking to her".:(

BTW - gr8-1: You REALLY need to see the whole movie! It means even more when you have seen all of it.

I've seen bits and pieces of the movie, and I know the theme of it. Sad thing is, the sadest part isn't when Penn dies. I think the commentary about life is what is hear-wrenching about the mobie. A great, great movie.

A great movie, but I wonder what kind of legs it will have. If I recall correctly, it didn't do so well overseas. You may not only need to be an American to fully appreciate it, but maybe an American from the 20th century.

Or maybe it will be a cult classic in 100 years.

Great movie .. I just finished watching Cast Away and Hanks is awesome in this movie as well..I don't think many actors could have pulled of such a great performance with a volleyball as a co-star.

You know what? I'm not a Helen Hunt fan either, but that is flat out rude.

Am I the only one that didn't like this movie? Every time that I tell someone I hated it, they think I have no soul. However, I will admit that Hanks put in an amazing performance.

I have a little disdain for this movie, mainly because it robbed Pulp Fiction of Best Picture.

I had a little disdain for A Beautiful Mind because it robbed Lotr, but then I sacked up and watched it, and now I love that movie.

    ;)

So the moral of the story is that I think she should go back to GREENBOW ALABAMA!

Oh, don't get me wrong, I think Forrest Gump is a great picture.

    Almost through The Hobbit dude.

Okay, I post this knowing that it will probably kill my run in the "best poster #2" competition, but now I will have an excuse when ROXTXIA kicks my behind.

Kilgore Trout, you are not the only one. What you need for that movie is major "suspension of disbelief," and I tried (oh did I), but I couldn't get there. I just kept saying "no way, he wouldn't do that, no matter how dumb he is."

I will say Gary Senise (sp) was absolutely brilliant, and that scene of the shrimpboat in the storm is priceless. But overall, I just could not get myself to care about that brain-damaged guy and that self-inflicted-trouble woman he loved. Especially not for 4.28 hours.

It's not easy being bereft of soul, and completely evil. :( Maybe I should just go ahead and buy a luxury SUV. Hmmm...

Every time I watch Forrest Gump, I always come away thinking how HOT Robin Wright Penn is. Ol' Sean is a lucky guy.

Tom Hanks has had a string of good movies. Big was OK, but then there is Forrest Gump, Castaway, Saving Private Ryan and The Green Mile. He's a great actor and has a great sense of what scripts would make a good movie.

    Another Tom Hanks classic

    The Bonfire of the Vanities

At least he got to feel up Melanie Griffith's new breasts.
