There's already a friggin' TV movie about this?! Geez, this happened back in, what....JULY?!

They must have had John Ratzenberger on the phone while those guys were still trapped underground...

I want to know what the hell took them so damn long... Most of us forgot it happened already!

To be quite honest I think the reason they come out with things like this so quickly now is b/c we are all getting more of a short-term memory due to the over exposure to so many odd, crazy or amazing stories. If it took muc longer people would not be as interested.

On that note, how long before they have a Clara harris story? With all the crap that is going on in that story, it would be hard to create a fiction that is that complicated!

Well, you don't need a big set (you could basically use a bathtub in a closet), and you don't need lighting. Your actors are covered in coal dust, they'll be poorly lit, their lines are simple, they don't move much, so they don't need much talent. Your costumes will just be those old-man-style jumpsuits with the elastic waistbands. ... I could make this movie for about $27.

It's not quite that simple. I'm sure they had a few outside shots like the miners coming to work that day, the rescue crew, concerned family member, etc...

When you think of all that goes into a movie. Getting funding, getting the cast and crew together and signed to contracts, locations, filming, editing....making ANY kind of movie in less than four months is pretty amazing...

Coming to FOX this Christmas, The DC Sniper Saga! Check local listings...
