Agree and that's the truly sad part of this - Crane & Co know that 5-10 years down the road, the Astros sheep will all be back in the pasture grazing happily for the also-ran team in Texas. I just don't see how this move benefits the Astros in any way, form or fashion while the Rangers just made out like bandits.

The only way it benefits the Astros is that the owner saved $70 million. Hopefully the local government will get some cash too and save the taxpayers some money so at least they get something out of it.

I battling with my feelings. Do I continue to support the team knowing my owner sold out? Do I root for another team, even though it seems wrong? Do I quit watching a game I love to get back at the people that raped me?

MLB won't miss a beat, so boycotting the game on screws me over. Which leaves me the choices of rooting for the Astros, or rooting for a team I've been rooting against for the past 20 years, which I just don't think I can do.

While I'm disappointed in the move to the AL too, any animosity towards Crane is unwarranted. He had two choices: 1) Own the team and go the AL or 2) Back away from the deal and MLB will tell the next owner the same thing. Alyson Footer mentions this several times on Twitter:

**We are disappointed too. In the end, the move was mandatory. No choice. New league. New beginning. Fingers crossed.

**Crane on AL mandate: "It was made very clear to us anyone who owned the team would be moving to the AL.

**If Crane said no, the team would go back on market and the next owner would have to agree. That's just how it is.

Let's give Crane a chance before we start condemning him from the get-go.

I don't have much reason to argue...though I could make a good argument that but for Crane's past (skeletons in the closet) MLB wouldn't have had this leverage...couldn't have created the smokescreen they created.

Also, understand that Footer works for the Astros. The minute Crane was approved as owner, she was on his payroll.

    Agreed...

Well said...I hate it now but as usual, time heals all wounds...I still don't like it and will be selective of what I buy...but that's just me...

I don't hate anyone but Bud Selig for making this happen. McLane probably felt he would lose $100 million if Crane wasn't approved. Crane was desperate to own the team.

I still wish they would have stayed firm. I wish they would have said, go ahead and decline the huge offer we just made. There were 30 people in that room that were made richer by Jim Crane.

If I lived in Houston, I'd have been a season ticket holder (or at least have a flex package) that I wouldn't be renewing. In the last several years my only contributions to MLB have been the radio package, which I will not renew this year, and a couple of $5 hats and a $10 Fathead.
